As you can see by means of my open questions at the bottom of my last post I'm also not pleased with this "unfinished" solution.
If you could bypass this by holding a (some) buttons at the boot up procedure it would be great.
But as you think it can be quite handy if you "focus" on one game at the moment (Advance Wars in my case at the moment) and have a "daily routine" from Monday till Friday e.g. go to work by train every day at exactly the same time and just want to switch on your device and play on.
It would be really simple for the M3 team to add some more switches to the boot ini but for this to happen more users should know about the possibilities and demand it or nothing will change -_^ !!
