It sounds like they spotted a security flaw and moved to patch it fast.

Also, it could just be a simple fix to the update module that always makes you start an update without even checking your current version.
Anyone want to check that?

Updated my JPN DSi system, nothing to see what should be new, flashcards still work fine.

Maybe the update installs a trojan that sends info to Big N, who knows, or it just patches a little flaw in the system.

Héhé, i really don't care, i buy all my stuff since a few months ago

So I take it that Nintendo does not have an official listing of what their DSi updates do? I haven't been able to find them. Valentines Day easter egg for certain wares?
