oh ya and since i didnt follow up with rumors lately, is there a new DS design to be released?
There are rumours as always. Some say theres gonna be one with a digital tuner built it, one says there'll be a design thats lighter, has a better d-pad, without the GBA slot but with memory for storing possible GB-GBA VC games.

All are lies, Nintendo are making way too much money and as a rep from them stated "Maybe when sales dip" or something like that.

There was recent rumour tat Nintendo finished design on a third DS wit GBA slot removed and built-in drive. It also stated tat Nintendo is not plannin to announce it until sales dip which obviously wont happen anytime soon.

Whatever nintendo would released they wont make it easier to support piracy, so i think that maybe in new release would be more ram, but i doubt there would be build in memory.

Haha, build-in storage space. That's a laugh. This alone discredits the whole rumour.

Why should it discredit? Maybe Nintendo is tryin to bring VC to DS? who knows

Anyways most of the game sites had the news. Nintendo of course immediately denied the whole thing sayin it was all just rumours.

And also the news said if they redesigned the DS there would be no GBA slot, just to make it smaller.

Doesn't bother me, since the last time I touched a GBA game was a LOOONG time ago.

Would be cool to have a Virtual Console in the DS, with Game Boy, Game Gear and Neo Geo Pocket games.. or even original titles.. I believe that downloads are the future of gaming.. with the success of the Wii VC, WiiWare and Xbox Live.. the next DS will most probably have some kind of Virtual Console..

If they did it'll probably have like 16mb so you can only have a few games.

I do suspect that Nintendo will do handheld games on VC but it'll be in some really stupid way, like you need to transfer the game with the Wii via Wi-Fi. If you turn off your DS you'll lose the game thus having to transfer the game AGAIN. But for games that save you can transfer the save over to the Wii for later use.

Would Nintendo be that dumb?

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
