N64 emulators on the PSP do indeed suck crap, they're slow and even after 'perfect' tweaking you'll still probably never hit an acceptable frame rate. Srsly.

^^I wish this was one of the smilies on GBATemp.

why are people waiting for n64 on the ds?

couldnt they just buy a wii and wait for the emulator there?

its like waiting at the wrong place at the right time

Quoted for the Truth.
Downloading or Pirating VC&WiiWare titles is better than an emulator on the Wii.

And purchasing them is even better than that.

Nahhh....I prefer the Ds the way it is.
I hate handhelds with 3D graphics.
Whatever happened to 2D.
In my book the GBA was the best handheld ever made.

The Pandora has N64 emulation. It's going to be AWESOME! I may get one even though I'm getting a UMPC, just because it's so friggin cool.

I agree, wholeheartedly, the GBA was purely 2D pixel for the most part, and that's my style. It had some of the best games ever as well.

Although I'm all for 'stronger' systems, I don't need to play 3D handhelds, it's not my style anyway, maybe it's fun for some though.

Pandora's nice and all, but it's quite too large to really be considered a 'handheld' it's more like a laptop. :|

Problem is through, "stronger" and more powerful systems mean better hardware, better hardware means a bigger power consumption and smaller battery life unless someone makes a mini, portable nuclear battery or something.

Yup that's always true. Need a better smaller battery type, for handhelds to truly soar to new levels.

The Pandora is around the same size as a DS.

Pictures do it no justice though.

I figured it was either way too large, or the buttons were way too small to be worth using (The QWERTY ones)

I suppose it's not as bad as a cellphone although it's quite small.

Thanks for clearing that up for me actually, I was wondering because the measurements on Wikipedia would lead it to being quite small, but the images there and linked from there make it look large and clunky. :/

The Pandora does NOT have N64 emulation ... not at all ... it will support consoles from the PS1 backwards ... that is 1994 backwards ...

Also, go to the blog section of OpenPandora.org, and watch the video that show it running next to a black DS Lite, for proper size comparisons ...

Ah I see, basically only a few cm larger. However, I highly doubt that would fit in any of my pant pockets. :[ Sucks for basic carrying then, but the capabilities of it are very nice indeed.

They're all prototypes as of now though, correct? So they have potential to perhaps be a bit smaller in the end?

PS although they say it can fit in your pocket, I severely doubt it... I wear Sweat Pants (Large pockets) most of the time, and really a DS takes up almost a whole pocket with not much room for much else... same with my PSP, if it's in there, that's all that's in there.
