WWHD Tools
Practice tools, cheats and an in-game menu for The Wind Waker HD
Wii U (Aroma) and Cemu
Hey All,
I've been working on this for a while and it's finally at a point where I'm happy to let other people try it. WWHD Tools is a menu that runs inside Wind Waker HD. There are a ton of cool features that I have put into this such as save states, a fly cam, an inventory editor, a hitbox and collision viewer, a bunch of cheats, and tools for practicing tricks like storage, super swim and zombie hover (more on this later). The big goal for me was having all of this on an actual Wii U, not just on an emulator. So it runs on console through Aroma, and on Cemu through a graphics pack.
A lot of late nights in Ghidra went into this, with the TWW GameCube decomp open right next to it. If you run into anything weird, check the Bugs and feedback section.

What's in it
- Save states, plus a save loader that loads save files straight off the SD card
- Inventory editor for items, bottles, equipment, songs, pearls, Triforce shards, bags, charts, hearts, magic and rupees
- Fly cam. Fly the camera anywhere, then hand control back to the game
- Coordinates. Save your position to a slot and load it later, even from another room
- Sea chart teleport. Pick a square on the chart and you're there
- Reset game and reload stage on a button combo
Storage
Give yourself storage or clear it with a button combo, or skip the setup and jump straight to the collision a stored chest or door leaves Link with. The Game Info window shows when storage is active.
Super swim
Turn on the MSS macro, hold R while swimming, and it does the stick inputs for you.
Zombie hover
The trainer rates every input (perfect, good, ok or bad) and keeps your stats and run history in its own HUD window. It can also heal you instead of giving you a game over. There's a button that drops you to a quarter heart and empties your fairies so you can easily begin your Zombie Hover practice. There is also a restore button to put it all back afterwards. If you want to see what a good hover looks like, hold R3 and take a lethal hit, and it does the inputs for you.

Download
Grab the latest zip from GitHub releases. Inside you'll find a Wii U folder and a Cemu folder. You only need the one for where you play.Supported versions

Installation
You need a Wii U running Aroma. If you don't have that yet, follow wiiu.hacks.guide first.
When you're done, your SD card should have these two files:
rpl_loader.wps is a small Aroma plugin I wrote that loads code into games, and wwhd_tools.rpl is the tool itself.
- Open the zip and go into the Wii U folder.
- Copy the wiiu folder from there to the root of your SD card. Say yes if it asks to merge.
- Put the SD card back in and boot into Aroma.
- Start The Wind Waker HD.
- Press L + ZL + Minus to open the menu.
When you're done, your SD card should have these two files:
Code:
sd:/wiiu/environments/aroma/plugins/rpl_loader.wps
sd:/wiiu/rpl-loader/universal/wwhd_tools.rpl
- In Cemu, go to File > Open Cemu folder and open the graphicPacks folder.
- From the zip, copy the Cemu/WWHD-Tools folder into graphicPacks.
- Go to Options > Graphic packs, find The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD > Mods > WWHD Tools and tick it.
- Start the game and press L + ZL + Minus.
This will require you to acquire the latest action build of Cemu found here. If you don't want to do this then follow the instructions below
The following steps requires you to have your game files loose:
- In Cemu, right-click on WWHD and click on Game Directory .
- Open the code folder
- Move the wwhd-tools.rpl found in the graphics pack to the code folder, right beside the cking.rpx
- Go to Options > Graphic packs, find The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD > Mods > WWHD Tools and tick it.
- Start the game and press L + ZL + Minus.
Cemu graphics packs match the game by a checksum, and every rando seed changes that checksum, so the pack has to be told about your seed. I have a small Windows helper that does this for you. It'll be linked here once it's ready: RandoPack
| What | Buttons |
|---|---|
| Open menu | L + ZL + Minus |
| Quick Access | L + ZL + Plus |
| Save state | L + ZL + D-pad Up |
| Load state | L + ZL + D-pad Down |
| Reset game | L + ZL + D-pad Left |
| Reload stage | L + ZL + D-pad Right |
| Fly cam | ZL + ZR + L3 + R3 |
Where your stuff goes
Settings, save states and logs live in sd:/wwhd_tools/. Put save files you want to load in sd:/wwhd_tools/saves. On Cemu that's the sdcard folder inside your Cemu folder.
The save loader and the inventory editor write to your save. Nothing should go wrong, but a backup is cheap insurance.
Bugs and feedback
This is the first public release, and some of the newer parts (coordinates, sea chart teleport, the zombie hover trainer) haven't had much time on real hardware yet. If something breaks or crashes, post here or open an issue on GitHub.- Wii U or Cemu (and your Cemu version)
- Your game region
- What you were doing when it happened
- The log from sd:/wwhd_tools/ if there is one
Feature requests are welcome too!
Thanks to the following as without it this project would not have happened as quick as it did:
