It all worked out, and I managed to go through with the install.

Do you have a recomandation to read about the way cia install works ? I have installed some games, some work, and others don't (black screen with error message saying to reboot).
Don't know what I can do in that case.

Are they out-of-region games? If so, they may require language emulation. If they are TWL or AGB games however, the issue may be in TWL FIRM.

Also, try opening the eShop page for every game that doesn't work and try opening the game after that.

Is it safe to update to the new firmware generally speaking ?
Kids are playing with the 3DS and might update without asking.

Should I make backups everytime before updating ?

What's your setup? If it is A9LH with Luma3DS; 11.3 works fine. Making backups before updating doesn't hurt, though. If something goes wrong, it can be easily restored (if A9LH is intact, or even if not, you can get the system hardmodded and flash the backup)

Indeed it's arm9loaderhax with Luma3DS.

Do I need to update A9LH by the way ?
