Hi,

I have a GW that hasn't been updated for like 2-3 years.
I'm not sure what FW the gateway is now.

My 3DS is on FW 4.3.0-10E. The GW FW is 6.3.0-12E.

I would like to switch to CFW, using the Plailect (guide https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki), but not having followed the scene for so long, I have a couple questions :

Can I just go right ahead and follow the guide or do I have to do stuff first ?

I guess I had set up the EmuNand to use GW, but I'm not sure anymore. I'm not even sure what the Emunand is for anymore..
I don't think I still have a bin backup file of my GW, I don't find it. Is that bad ? Should I uninstall GW in anyway before going to CFW ?

I've read that the GW fastboost is bad and risks to brick. I don't remember using that, but I'm not sure either.

Help me clear my head please ! :D

Just follow the section in the guide to update to 9.2 and then go from there.
4.0.0 4.5.0 + ALL - OLD: Decrypt9 (MSET) + ALL - OLD:
Decrypt9 (Browser)

You don't need Emunand anymore (optional) so you could go a ahead and backup any saves you want and format the SD card, so you get the extra space back that Emunand used.

Once on a9lh/Luma cfw you still have the option to use GW with it anyway, so you don't lose out either way.

Thanks ! I'll get on to it then. :)

Do you have a internet Browser on you're current 4.5fw? If, so just do the Decrypt9 Browser part, once in, do this first if you want to keep a 4.5 backup:

6. If you do not already have a NAND backup, backup SysNAND to NANDmin.bin when prompted by pressing (A)

Otherwise, continue with it as it's instructed.

I'm trying to download the Old 3DS or 2DS 2.1.0 - EUR - ctrtransfer (on my phone cause torrents are blocked at work), and it says there is no seed.
Any mirrors in direct download ?

Tbh, wait till you get home and do it or use a VPN on the phone to bypass the blocks.

I tried to connect to the urls given in the wiki, but all of them give me an error : "an error as occured, save all and reboot".
I've tried to go to the options, delete all saved data and retry but it gives me the same error again.
Any idea ?

I did go to the Decrypt9 earlier, but as I couldn't download, I turned off the 3DS to save the battery. Is that bad ?

Thanks to your help guys.

It all worked out, and I managed to go through with the install.

Do you have a recomandation to read about the way cia install works ? I have installed some games, some work, and others don't (black screen with error message saying to reboot).
Don't know what I can do in that case.
