I've been lurking on gbatemp for around a decade now, but I thought I ought to sign up just to give my opinions on, and say thanks for, the whole homepass thing.
I first set up my Mac Pro at work a few days ago using the guides here and have had no issues at all (although it only seems to generate passes using the _The Cloud SSID) - I then dashed home to set about the rather complicated procedure required to convert my old Nintendo Wi-Fi USB dongle into a soft AP so I could use my winXP pc to spoof the streetpass network...
All went well (edited the Buffalo firmware to read the Nintendo device, hex edited the Asus app to recognise the Nintendo device, followed all the settings described to the letter), but just couldn't get anything to connect with it. After 8hrs of retrying, uninstalling, and going through the procedure from scratch multiple times I gave up and went to bed.
The following day I read some other threads here that gave me a few ideas to test in the hope that it would work, but still nothing - so I gave up on my main xp machine (with a wired connection to the internet) and thought I'd try my bedroom-relegated 2nd xp machine that connects wirelessly...
And it works flawlessly - and better than that MACycle works great on it (despite the impression given that it's for use with win7/8 exclusively), meaning I don't have to bother with the procedure of manually cycling MACs with TMAC.
So, a big thanks to everyone that's contributed to MACycle (and its predecessors), and to everyone that figured out the streetpass spoofing methods, as well as everyone who's supplied MAC's and other helpful info
