Localization studio 8-4 won't be handling the translation for Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Fire Emblem localizations have been a very contentious subject in recent times, considering the extents that fantranslators on GBAtemp and other teams went through to re-translate what they felt was a failed Fire Emblem: Fates translation by Nintendo, or trying to rework in deleted costumes for the western release of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. Both of these issues stemmed from Nintendo's inhouse localization studio: Nintendo Treehouse. 8-4 is another translation company, having worked on Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fire Emblem: Echoes.
With the recent announcement of the latest Fire Emblem game, Three Houses, fans began wondering who was handling the translation this time, Nintendo, or 8-4. It was then confirmed on 8-4's official Twitter account that they were not working on localizing the game, meaning its translation is up to another studio.
Lots of folks asking if we’re working on Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Not this time, sorry! But we’re crazy excited to play it when it launches, just like you! https://t.co/HKROgHFDJe
