He denied all sex abuse/assault/harrassment claims, the things that could land him in prison. He's a predator attempting to squeeze the last bit of good faith out of his victims and ex-fans.

Didn't know who this was until I realised he was Kirbopher. Imagine grinding out a career like this and fucking it up, damn son.

I guess TFS needs a new Ox King.

Wasn't he the guy that made that animation about Super Mario RPG?

Anyway, I can totally understand recasting him as a result from this. He did a bad, he now admitted to a bad to put it in baby speak.

If a company now continues to publicly associate with him (especially in the case of a big name thing like Nintendo), that company risks being put under fire for associating with him. That's how it works, like it or not.

I don't know. Ever heard of respect? This man could have done shit on who-knows-how-many women with sexual assault and you dare to say "Who the fuck cares"?

It's better that his name has been removed. Imagine landing in jail and your name is still slapped onto a credits sequence.

    You've been abused and Traumatized?

Have you had all avenues of legitimate work in your specialty sealed off to you?

Have you had all your friends shun you to the point you were isolated and entirely alone?

Were you ever put into a point that you had constant mail telling you to go die? That you are worth nothing?

If the answer to any of these are no, then no, you have not "had your life ruined". A person can come back from any of these individually. Maybe at worst two, but having all 3? That's life crippling. That's truly 'ruining a person's life'. When you 'ruin a person's life' you are driving their self worth and self esteem to non-existent values. You are effectively 'killing' them.

You say abusers 'do not want to improve themselves'. Do you not realize that you are abusing the abusers? You are abusing them to the point they don't WANT to improve. Why should they try with people like you who are going to continue to kick them down, even when they try to lift themselves up? Of course, you don't care. You don't care if they try, you exist in a court of your own personal opinion.

To my knowledge, he has not admitted to sexual assault. If he's lying, then he should be buried as much as any sexual predator (be put on a public list of sexual predators, it should haunt him).

ANYONE who wishes someone's life to be ruined is basically saying they want to kill the person, without having the blood directly on their hands as ruining the person often causes suicide.

Can you prove the sexual abuse/assault/harassment is a thing? Until you can, I suggest you calm that down. For all we know the sexual end might entirely be the same as the Vic Mignogna case - people simply wanting to jump on the hate bandwagon. I am not saying it ISN'T true, but that it's also likely it is false too. We have no hard proof and some people know sexual assault/etc is a good way of stirring up hate, getting sympathy points, etc.

I know that may make you angry, but consider the "MeToo" movement's history, how many false cases have already been confirmed, sometimes by the ones who claimed the sexual harassment. Remember Johnny Depp? How we found out it was his wife abusing him, and not the other way around? That's a good example. At this point, thanks to the "MeToo" bandwagoners who have abused the movement to gain fame or traction with no basis, it's honestly hard to trust ANY accusations of sexual misconduct seriously because it's become so convolutedly hijacked as a method for destroying people with no proof since people jump on that bandwagon WAY too easily..

The separate the art from the artist question is always a fun one. That said it is usually more applied to directors, writers, people that had substantial influence over the work. Proper voice acting is hard, and can bring a depth to a character all of its own but in the end it is still voice over.
If indeed this is personal conduct related rather than NDA related that is still a fairly drastic move, especially for conduct like this and for work already done (if it was during audition or something then that changes things a bit). Can't say I entirely approve but can see scope for others to approve.

That would be an oversimplification. There are certainly people out there that are fundamentally broken and beyond any help we can likely or reasonably provide at present, but there are plenty of others that never learned better*, and will change with time or with treatment. There are similarly those out there which would be said to have been abusive but had no clue that they were being so for a variety of reasons, and will stop once informed of their errors in judgement or action either in general or with respect to the individual involved. Maybe your situation involved one of said fundamentally broken types but there are so many other possibilities.

*how many people out there grew up with parents in distant relationships (cheaper to keep here/divorce is so expensive because it is worth it sort of thing), single parent households without a relationship, where parental relationships are strained**, the ever fun drugs and alcohol, where parents suffer from something that leaves them unable to do the "typical healthy relationship" bit and so on and so on. If you replicate what you know, maybe modified a bit by TV or seeing something somewhere, then you may still fall far short of the mark but upon being told that is not acceptable here then they will strive to never do it again or reconsider what led them to that behaviour.

**if as you say you have PTSD that probably sees you avoid certain things (lack of non telegraphed touch -- if someone say snuck up behind you and put their hand on your neck or across your body it is probably not great for you but many others very much enjoy that, probably a lack of if not raised voices then stern disapproval rather than reasoned debate and soft tones, possibly a lack of physicality -- plenty of people like to lightly wrestle with their significant other where many in your position tend to have trouble there and that will do as a starter list). Say you got a partner fully cognisant of all those and you both decide to raise a kid. Said kid then decides to emulate the model they knew (or what they appeared to see -- your SO asks you to clean say but it turns out to be one of those days where you need to sit around and do not a lot, obviously your SO in this hypothetical understands this but if your kid sees request and no response as acceptable behaviour will they put up with a slovenly layabout as a result?) and would find themselves lacking for many.
Do we then write you off as damaged beyond repair or worth?

Going further is the point of such things rehabilitation or punishment?

this has nothing to do with the game and no one who plays it would know about it. Who outside his inner circle would be outraged by it? They are seriously going to censor the game because of this wtf? I understand not hiring him again (if he's molesting people in the workplace lol) but taken him out of a product he already finished?

Supposedly he's being dismissed for the NDA break, not his behavior. His behavior's just him being a proper man. His apology includes breaking the NDA as I remember.

Two words, future DLC. It’s been discussed by others more knowledgeable about the situation than myself in this thread. The decision might also be linked to the possibility of his character being a DLC character for Smash Ultimate (not confirmed but possible) and smash falls into more hands than Fire Emblem unfortunately.

    EDIT: Fixed grammatical error

Both. That said, my opinion is that this kind of thing should be settled in a courtroom. Social media dog-piling isn't justice. It's vigilantism.

If this guy truly committed sexual assault, then the court will put him behind bars where he belongs and classify him as a sex offender.

The recent approach by companies however is to drop anything or anyone who has even a hint of controversy, even if it's untrue (though most cases have been true.) And as far as I'm concerned, they sometimes seem to resort to extreme measures.

I just want to point out that proper men don't break NDAs or have controversy of sexual assault that isn't immediately dismissed as untrue.

In the past, this was handled by just, you know, replacing the voice actor. Consistency of voice acting is only a recent thing.

Nothing has acknowledged the sexual assault as true. There is to my knowledge no police info, no court records, etc, claiming he's been accused of sexual assault. Not even video.

Also breaking NDA AND apologizing for it is suddenly a thing proper men do? No offense but NDA is something that started back during the late 1800s. In short, not really something considered 'standard' for "being a proper man". He was accused, he apologized for what he did. Until anything else is proven, we cannot assume he did sexually assault.

You and I live in America, innocent until proven guilty and all that. If that isn't your cup, well, honestly I dunno what to tell you.

Honestly shouldn't Nintendo have more mercy? The dude apologized and states he's making a change in his life, giving him a second chance would send a positive message to the people, I could understand if he DIDN'T apologize.

wait .... "KIRBOPHER", that one that animations I watched around 2000's on newgrouds became a voice actor and have abuse stuff?
World is sure an egg :v (idk if his expression works in english)
well I think job related results and personal live must not be mixed... I mean , they tell us that every time, even more if you work with your family, do don't disturb the jobs results and the family relations...
I know it's bad but idk.. it's complex :P Should keep his work already done, already paid, next time hire someone else if the problem is not wanting to give money and celebrate the work of someone with bad behavior
(And if his sorry letter was really true, why not hive him a chance?)

Congrats Nintendo. No Companie's name should ever be linked to any abuse of any kind!

Just leave it. It doesn't change a thing if they replace the lines. He did the work so he got paid already. Sexual assault is disgusting, but it's completely unrelated to him voicing in the game.
Hey, losers like Sean Schemmel need to make a name for themselves somehow.

What are you defining as abuse and assuming it is vaguely near a legal definition (a stronger one than some psychological ones) how do you propose to enforce it? This seems like an impossible burden for no great gain.

My point was how laughable the whole "proper men" comment was by that user, but I suppose that didn't carry terribly well in text.
