Please don't be rude for me asking this question.
I know it's not implemented yet, but has there been any words on if someone is working on the audio yet?

If you think my question is stupid or annoying then please don't reply (or try to stay friendly as you reply)
Not since the last time u asked

Just curious, how would you play DS games on the Switch? Do you just use your fingers to control it? How accurate would you say it is?

And are there gloves so I don't give the LCD screens more fingerprints from my greasy hands than they sometimes have got!?

The DS emulator is very slow right now, but from the little usage I'd say its somewhat accurate, this was testing the melonDS though. I'll try and see how accurate Desmume is

I totally know this is for Lakka but I just wanted to report that using the online updated on home brew retroarch to get the n64 core is not working at all for me

Every single .n64 hard crashes it. Is the same core here the same one being grabbed in the online update inside of the home brew retroarch?

The dreamcast core is not working for me at all (for mvc2 and cvs2) and I have tried using the rar files then the cdi/gdi files and I made sure they were in the roms folder. Also I can't find a complete supported rom list.

EDIT: Apparently I need bios files for dreamcast, where can I find these?

what are the recommened settings for N64 please. I run Super Mario 64 but lots of flickering and glitches. On the title screen the face does not appear - yet ive seen this in a video a few pages back.
Bizarrely, this is fixed by using shaders. For example, enable the sabr shader from within the core settings and the graphical issues including the missing Mario head will be fixed.

In most games, you should disable Framebuffer Emulation for a simple framerate boost. Massive improvement in Ocarina of Time, for example. Also enable Threaded Video in the video settings.

thanks for this. I would love to try it again but for some reason I cant get past the black screen on boot for Lakka. Its like every time i get this, very annoying. Is there a fix now for this?

When I try to load a .cdi file with the Dreamcast core nothing happens. I have bios in the same dir as Tony Hawk 2 but I don't see the setting where I can tell Retroarch where the bios are located as I can with the Atmosphere version. Is only bin/cue supported with this core?

Guys, everything is working fine. Reicast is wonderfull!!! I have a problem, though: audio won't work…
I followed the guide in the faq, and actually the ssq interface says the device is connected, but still not audio… (I've tried with two devices and the file in boot folder is here).
Can someone help me?

quick edit: airplay doesn't work at all, with the error: "failed to symlink" and "operation failed 34", but from what I've found it's cause of FAT32.

Where do the BIOS files for playstation 1 go?

EDIT: I put them in systems folder but a lot of my roms are not appearing and no ps1 rom will load.

So I got my Dreamcast bios in the right folder but I'm still getting a black screen with the little white X when I try to launch a CDI and then it just brings me back to the interface. Any idea?

Try putting the bios in the same folder as your games?

I've fixed it now, I didn't have the correct bin +cue combonation for my roms.
Im also having trouble getting dreamcast games to work on lakka retroarch. I have a boot.bin and flash.bin bios files. Where did you put them that made it work and are the bios files different for different games? The game im trying is capcom vs snk 2 by the way.

First of all, if you look for the info about reicast core you would know that you need dc_boot.bin and dc_flash.bin.

Put those two files into the DC folder in the bios path and everything would work.

so n64 is more important than dolphin?
this doesnt make sense to me
dolphin requires 64bit and 64bit is the reason other platforms were laggy even if they were using 64bit dolphin would not be usable at most 2 fps

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
