When I try to launch just dance 2019 or 2020 I get a black screen. I use the USB game loader gx

I changed the game iOS to 250 or 249 or force ntsc but both don't work. I've also used moddmii to update it to the lastest version.

Does any one know why it still doesn't work?

Hello.:)

Welcome to the Wii Section on GBAtemp.

Your other Games are working ? :)

If you use the PAL Versions of the Just Dance Games:
Did you tried to disable/set to OFF the "Nand Emulation" Option in the InGame Settings too please ?
Normally you do no need to change other Settings for the Game.

If you use the NTSC Versions:
You can also try to change the "Game Language" Option in the InGame Settings to "English" and
also please disable the "Nand Emulation" Option.

Good luck
Thank you.:)

Hi, I don't know why but I tried it one more time using ios 250 and changing the langauge to english. It seems to load now but the game freezes when im going through songs. I use NTSC version on PAL console.

I've uploaded a syscheck

Other games work fine.

Yes,please a sysCheck is a good Idea.

To get you correct please, your are using the regular Versions of Just Dance and not a Modded Version with custom Songs ?

Thank you.:)

the syscheck is in my op. I've used this iso
Αντίγραφο του S2UE41.iso

Thank you.:)

Your Game is of course the correct one.
Your sysCheck is also good.:)

Did you already done this please ?

Which USB Device (please tell me no USB Stick/Flash Drive/Pen Drive/Thumb Drive and this Kind) do you have and how is it formatted please ?

Which Version of the USBLoader GX do you use please ?
Since your other Games work,I think you have your USB Device attached to the correct Port 0:
index.jpg

You can also look on the Loader´s IOS in the Settings/Global Settings - Loader Settings - Loader´s IOS.
It should be 58.
Can you also post your other Settings from there please ?
Maybe some "no correct" Settings prevents the Just Dance Games from successful working.

Thank you.:)

Thanks for your response. I've changed the video mode to default. After this the game worked perfectly fine. I changed the game language to English and game iOS to 250. This worked for me

I am running into the same issue with JD2018. A few other games too but I'm focusing on fixing this one first.

NTSC console with a PAL image. Normally, black screen and never changes.
I switched to region patch and disabled NAND emulation and it loaded but the top 25% or so of the screen was black and the bottom 25% of the game was missing.

Forcing NTSC does not work. Setting game language to English doesn't work.

IOS v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52
slot 249 is base 56 | 250 is base 56 | 251 is base 58

I've tried both with no success. I didn't want to start another thread since it's essentially the same issue with a similar game.

Any tips on other things to try?

Hello.:)

Welcome to the Wii Section of GBAtemp.

Thank you for your sysCheck, that was very well Foresight and,it is a good One too.:)

For Just Dance 2018 PAL on the NTSC Wii.
There is usually no special Setting needed - except disabling the EmuNAND Save Option.

Please check in your USBLoader GX´s Settings/Global Settings - Loader Settings

Video Mode - Disc Default
Game Language - Console Default
Loader´s IOS 58 (249 works too).
Game´s IOS - 249

Please use always the WiiBackup Manager for the Game Transfer.:)

But the most important Questions are:

- other Games (you mentioned it) are also not working ?
- which Type/Kind of USB Device did you use please ?
Please Note,USB Sticks/Thumb Drives/Pen Drives/Flash Drives and this Kind are not really reliable for use, they would fail without warning and are really not recommended for the USBLoader. Some work, some not,a "russian Roulette" as you like.
- and how is it formatted please ?

So,if the Setting Points above not working, can you please try an HDD ?

Good Luck and
Thank you.:)

Hi Alexander!

Thank you for the reply.

I've done enough searching and reading to know that if I'm going to bother asking a question, especially one that seemingly is asked often, I'd better supply the information like syscheck and HDD type that are often asked about.

For the record, the HDD was at the bottom of my first post. :) It's an external HDD FAT32 with 2TB capacity. All games are transferred using Wii Backup Manager.

One other game I am running into the same issue with is "Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals: Sing and Dance" [my family likes to sing and dance] and I also had the issue with another Just Dance game (one of the Disney ones but I cant remember which, switching to NTSC fixed that one). My wife reported the issue to me on another game but I don't remember which (selective hearing?).

Are you indicating that forcing NTSC shouldn't be necessary for PAL discs? The first issue I experienced since running my Wii with backups from the HDD was a game being pushed down on screen. I changed the video setting on that game to NTSC and the issue went away. Unfortunately that didn't solve my other one hence I am here :)

I will try your suggestions either this evening or tomorrow! Thank you

One Thing I always forget to ask (I really should put that on the Check List).
DId you use the standard A/V Cable or an Component Cable or an HDMi Connection for the Wii please ?
Maybe it is unrelated.:)

Thank you.:)

Hello,

With your Just Dance 2018 PAL game, did you try this in the game settings of your loader ==>
- Force NTSC
- cios 250 base 57

You can test your game with Configurable loader v70 and see the result ??
For me ==> configurable loader v70 start some games compared to usb loader gx do not start (don't ask me why).

I know, I have a tendency for Configurable loader v70:P:rofl2:

I am using a component cable. I purchased the Wii some time back from someone and they had a universal cable for it. It's a "PDP PL-9924 Universal Output Cable" which has Xbox 360 and PS3 connectors as well as the Wii.

I also have a correction on previously supplied information. My HDD is NTFS formatted, not FAT32. The SD card is FAT32 and I got mixed up. I do believe when I was poking around on how to set all of this up originally I think NTFS was recommended or at minimum perfectly acceptable for USBLoaderGX.

That said, with your settings changes, the game still loads off center. I would post a picture but I can't do so as a new member just yet, though I suspect you've probably seen it before.
I do have JD2019 and it works perfectly fine (NTSC disc) so I could just take the easy route and make 2018 disappear and move on like it never happened but I am not that person. :)

I tried NTSC and the different IOS and the game doesn't launch at all. I will try configurable loader to see if that makes a difference.

Or use the version of the NTSC game
I would prefer an NTSC version but PAL is all I have.

Configurable Loader v70 worked when I changed the "Country Patch" to "Yes".
I changed the USBLoaderGX setting "patch country strings" (I may have the exact setting name wrong here) to yes but that didn't result in success. I'd like to stick with USBLoaderGX if I can because so far it's more user friendly (especially for the family) and my experience thus far with Configurable is it requires a gamecube controller just to launch (I could be missing something, I haven't done any research).

I will keep tinkering.

Thank you both for your help.

the country string setting is usually for japanese games.
I didn't encounter NTSC/PAL combination needing it.

With your Just Dance 2018 PAL game, did you try this in the game settings of your loader ==>
- Force NTSC
You should FORCE PAL, if the game is PAL, or else it'll black screen or don't work.
you should always use "the game region" instead of the console's region.
that's why the default video setting is "disc" (or game), and not "console".

if that doesn't work, or if you don't use 480p (and could have wrong colors output on tv), you can try to patch the dol using the "video mode" for NTSC, and "video dol patching" set to full.
it'll replace the game's internal compatible video mode to NTSC, to match your console's region. not all game support that !

resetting the settings should be best.
just try to change the slot (two test both base 56 and 57)
If d2x v10 r52 doesn't work, sometime d2x v8 helps (even if they are supposed to be identical)

even better : use the proper region of the game ! NTSC game on NTSC console.

Thank you for even more information Cyan. I will try your suggestions.
I agree the best solution would be the proper region of the game. In this particular case I have not been able to obtain an adequate NTSC disc.

you shouldn't need to patch the dol, as it already contains PAL video signal information in it.
just forcing the video mode (not the dol) should be enough.
but, if it works for you like that, that's fine too.
