Hardware is a 200gb Micro SD enough in the long run for the Switch (Digitally).

before the sale end etc.

200gb micro SDs are only 40$ right now, so that is a pretty much of a steal !

but i was thinking whether a 200gb would be enough or not, i plan to go digitally with my switch.
and i am also mostly only into JRPGs , what is your take on this guys.

would a 200gb be sufficient for my needs, or should i go with a 256gb which probably costs double the amount, thank you!

Take the 200gb one. If you ever need more it's better to just buy another one.

i would not like swapping /transfer hassle thing !

hmmmm, i will look up some 256gbs , if i find some for 60$ i will grab one.
but they are too damn pricey.

The extra 56gb really doesn't make that much of a difference. If you run out of 200gb you'll probably run out of 256gb.

i will go with the 200 !

i believe i will easily be able to put around 20 games on it.
most of them rpgs.

considering each is around 10gb and less.

Switch games are around 3-5 GB average, so unless you plan on playing 40 games at once (you can Archive games you don't play to preserve save data), it'll be well enough.

btw. there is just one thing that worries me, like lets say when i get my mSD , can i use it with the switch only after i format it to fat32 on my pc ?

because iirc. i read on some thread that the switch will prompt you to update in order to format the mSD for you.

what format does the switch use usually , is it not fat32?
if it is exFat , what is the negative to format the mSD to fat32 on the pc.

i mean i obviously would like to use homebew etc. when it is available later on, but i would love to also be able to use the mSD in some way.

like if we are then also able to access the eshop on our lower fws.
e.g 2.x / 3.x in some way, then i would love to use the eshop and make purchases.

since after all the upcoming hack related things for the switch probably only includes homebrew.

it is not just extra 20 dollars, the price for a 256gb is about 100$.
so not worth it, btw. the black friday sale thing goes until the 28th ?

because i will get some gift credit card tomorrow since the shop is closed now.

200GB will be plenty fine. the extra 56GB won't make much of a difference. Plus by the time you DO fill that up, 512gb/1TB MicroSD cards should be affordable.
