If there is a new intensive game that you're system can only either maintain 60 FPS or 1080p, but not both. Which would you choose? Is being able to see clearly more important or is smooth movement more important?

I assume the theoretical fps/resolution downgrade would be 30/720p correct?

If that's the case, 720 is the less of two evils. I can't see much difference unless the screen is static with a lot of text (like a web page).

On my screen, anything less than 1080 looks like a blurred mess. I notice this far more than a framerate I can lock to something lower to avoid stutters.

I voted FPS, but the main thing is a constant frame rate, I don't even care if it's 30fps, so long as it's not bouncing all over place.

Resolution, meh, I'd prefer 1080p just because that's what my TV does native, but it's not a huge difference from 720p. Just so long as you don't have to go down to 480, it's okay, imo.

I do prefer buttery smooth frame rates, and i do tend to find it easier to control games that run at 60 frames. Resolution is nice too though but in terms of looks a lot depends on the art style first

60 FPS, above all else. The resolution could be 800 x 600 for all I care, if I'm in a competition I need my shit to be as smooth as silk

Would prefer a smooth gaming experience so I'll trade FPS. I'm used to playing at 800x600 resolution on a frequent basis.

I'd rather play at 1024x768 @ 60FPS than 1920x1080 @ 30FPS. 60FPS is really the sweet spot for me, even if it's only because of my penchant for retro games (which are usually 60FPS).

1080p is just another resolution, which the commonality changes over time. 60+fps will always be golden. And lots of games look amazing sub 1080, especially with 60+fps.

utterly dependent on the game type.

FPS needs FPS... (Also fighting games.)

Something like a puzzle game or strategy game or RPG res over FPS any day of the week.
