Hacking Question How to bend paperlclip into right shape for rcm mode

I cant figure out how to get it in the right shape does anyone know exactly how to start off making the shape? I'm trying to make the one as shown below. (not mine).

If you go to this thread, you can see on a ruler where the paperclip needs to be bent. It might take a few tries before it works.
