Man I dream of hardware excell on retronx every day. I wonder what it would take to make something like that possible.

We got any new about this emulator? I want to play n64 games on my switch so much.
It is fantastic, RetroArch almost perfectly emulates every game.Sorry to up this but I'm asking the same question :
With all the updates, is the N64 emulation really enjoyable on Switch or is it vert glitchy ? I know it dépend on the game but in général ?
what core are you using ?It is fantastic, RetroArch almost perfectly emulates every game.
N64 emulation is generally not great on any platform (though there have been advances made more recently thanks to GlideN64 - though that only runs on PC to my knowledge), so as always the same thing applies with some games being especially problematic to run well (or run at all), and occasional glitches/crashes. If you're familiar with N64 emulation you should already be familiar with these quirks and limitations. Running N64 on the Switch is not much different than running it on any other platform. Granted L4T Lakka might work better than RetroNX, simply due to native homebrew for the most part not yet taking full advantage of the system, things have to be ported over or recreated for the native API, it's not a simple compile job like it is when running on an underlying Linux system that already has all the drivers in place to work with generic APIs like OpenGL and Vulkan.Sorry to up this but I'm asking the same question :

I did not think consoles would even be able to run GlideN64. My gaming laptop struggles with it.This is incorrect. N64 is great with the strides with with GlideN64 not only on PC, but with the Mupen64Plus-Next core which uses that updated GlideN64.
In short, I have been able to play Donkey Kong 64, RE2, Zelda OOT and many other games in Retroarch on Switch with no issues. N64 emulation is working very very good right now with few issues. It seems almost all games are completely playable fullspeed.
It's important to note that GlideN64 and Glide64 are two completely different GPU plugins. Though they are made by the same guy, GLideN64 is actually based on glN64, with numerous improvements, whereas Glide64 is based on an old plugin designed for 3dfx, which is not bad either but it hasn't seen any of the improvements that have come in more recent times as it's not worked on anymore.I saw a glide64 nsp once but it disapear...
Maybe it was japes or glitchy

Any chance you'd share your settings for RE2? I get most games running ok on but for RE2 my character or the zombies are always invisible!
Is there a standalone N64 Emulator instead of having to use retroarch?
completely forgetting about retroarch and its nsp version that improves n64 emulation???No N64 emulator ported yet. You could go with n64, everdrive or emulator for wii etc..
check the date of the post, matecompletely forgetting about retroarch and its nsp version that improves n64 emulation???
to the OP
N64 emulation isnt bad, but far from perfect, even on a PC N64 isnt considered as perfect.
