FBI for homebrew is impossible as of now and probably won't be possible anytime soon.
it literally costs two dollars/1.53 pounds or w/e for seedminer. plus if you buy a flashcart for ntrboot they'll probably get higher in value in the next few years. cfw pretty easy to install and it's worth it.

As I said, you need a fork that supports the feature. But it also depends on the fork, so read the readme. But it's your fault that you updated your 3DS. Smea will release a kernelhax for 3ds consoles up to 11.7.0 which should be free to use as far as I know.

And therein lies the problem. Both desmume and dsimenu++ are not the most ideal things to use, even on a hacked 3DS. They are still very experimental.

DSimenu++ got pretty usable with the past updates. A bit longer loading times and some sound corruptions here and there, but definetly usable.

Anyway, the 3dsx version of FBI you're referring to only worked for 11.2 and it was only used to install a very small number of "legit cia" files, so even on 11.2 it wouldn't be useful for what you're doing.
The CFW devs have made installation as simple and cheap as they're going to get any time soon, so you either need to be patient or willing to spend a little money on a flashcart. There's really no other option right now.

Buy yourself a flashcard, install CFW using http://3ds.hacks.guide and then you're golden. If you don't want to do that, it's nobody's fault.

I would suggest to put your 3DS back into its box, and bring it back to the seller for a full refund (explaining yourself with "I am too poor to install pirated games", if needed) - if that fails, sell it privately

Now you should have enough money for an original DS/Lite, a quality DS flashcard, and a microSD for it - which will play DS games even better than a 3DS

The flashcard is the only way. It didnt take too long to get to me when I bought mine. I legit bought mine just to hack my extra 3ds. Think of it this way you can use it hack your 3ds and flip the switch to play ds games.
