Hi this is my first time on this site and I'm new, but my friend has a homebrew 3ds and recently was letting his girlfriend play on it and she accidentally updated the system and now it wont boot up without crashing, he asked me to fix it but I told him I need the Nand backup file to do so, but he doesn't remember where the file is. So i wanna know is there anyway to restore the system without it or reset the system

Does the 3DS have latest Luma3DS version -- v10.2.1 at the moment? Hold (Select) on power on. On the top of the upper screen it should say:
Luma3DS v???? settings
Maybe it is just the ARM11 crash with process PM caused by an incompatibility of latest firmware with Luma3DS v10.x < v10.2.1

In this case update Luma3DS:

Good luck and have fun!
