Hi,
I was wondering, when I open the folder that contains a homebrew app such as dsorganize, there are many files including an NDS file. Do I just copy that one over to my micro sd card (R4DS)? Or do I copy over all of the files?

Also, can someone tell me quickly how moonshell works? I have to install it on my computer?

Thanks!

Many homebrew apps just require you to copy the .nds file over to anywhere you like. Some, like DSOrganize, have more specific requirements.
The dsorganize archive contains a readme file that should tell you what to copy over. Read it.
(Off the top of my head I think it's copy the DSOrganize folder and the .nds file to the root of your microSD)

And moonshell is just a very popular homebrew app that runs from the middle icon on your R4. Just drag the mshl folder with all the contents to the root of your Micro SD card. Don't need to install on your computer, although if you want to you can with an emulator.

And for movies and videos on Moonshell, convert them using either BatchDPG or dpgtools that comes with moonshell. And moonshell can only read .dpg formats, although there is a DSM player, which I advise you against using.

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select

  • NinStar @ NinStar:

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
