Hello there! I got a modded Wii less than a month ago, and it has been kind of a rollercoaster. One of the first games I tried was Sin and Punishment Star Succesor, which worked just fine. But now it is just not working: booting the game sends me to a black screen and the only way to turn off the console is manually. I'll leave some data:
- First time I booted it I did it on a 12GB usb stick, now I have upgraded to a 64GB one, which makes this black screen weird because every other game worked.
- I used d2x cIOS installer following a tutorial off youtube, I have d2x v6, cIos base 37, on slot 249.
I feel like a total asshat because maybe I screwed something up with the d2x cIos installer, I didn't see anyone else with this problem in other boards, so any help is useful. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

post a syscheck report here, please, following this guide ==>SYCHECK

for cios you can use this guide ==>CIOS guide

Strongly recommend ==> use a real FAT32 external hard drive (often USB keys give screens or never start.

you can try the WBFS format with your usb key (s), but that may not necessarily work.

use several loaders to launch your games (wiiflow, usb loader gx, or Configurable loader v78.11), you will decide what loader you want.

Hi there! It's been a long time. Unfortunately, I could never make the game work again, it always goes to a black screen and after that the system needs a reboot. I tried the latest cios from the guide that you provided me with.
I'll leave the syscheck report here, maybe it could help:

I can see two posibilities.

Either, a bad dump of the game, or the stick is not playing nicely with the wii.

Sticks aren't exactly reliable.

So for the first one, try to get a new dump of S&P:Star successor and check.

I had a similar issue with metroid prime 3 corruption, and it was a bad dump.

Hey there! I just tested the game on my other usb stick and still takes me to a black screen. Weird, because, again, that was the original stick with which I played it. I still can't get out of my mind that maybe it is an ios thing. But for now I'll try with another dump of the game. Thanks!

don't stick also to just USB loader GX, try wiiflow and CFG mod.
Its not always relevant, but there might be a setting you changed in GX that's also part of the cause. Having multiple avenues to test is well worth the hassle of swapping between three different loaders.

Some games might not work due to inherent settings of the loader IE Wiiflow doesn't lets you turn off entirely NAND emulation and some games (Metroid Prime Trilogy) aren't really compatible (as of yet) with NAND emulation.

it's a very good idea, that's what I do, I switch between the three loaders to obtain very positive results.

cheers :grog:
