P? lol i thought it was only U/E/J

P and E only comes into context with Disc Title ID's to specify region i thought

Worked flawless for me.

test specs (installed prior to testing):
  • 4.2U (via waninkoko firmware 4.2 updater)
  • Boot2v3 w/BootMii installed to Boot2 & IOS
  • HBC 1.0.5
  • DVDX v2
Looks like bannerbomb is alive and kicking.

Thankx for the quick fix!

This hack is God tier as per the previous versions, but it's a shame to release it for an update that does nothing, meaning it may get patched prior to an update that actually does do something, and that will be a real shame when there will finally be no more bannerbombs at a time when one is most needed.

For the people that have reported "it just freezes" - check you aren't being a noob like me and trying to run it from the Data Management channel. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working, until I read the bit in bold in the original post about you having to run it from the SD card menu

well i had a 4.1 wii with

cIOS 222, 233, 249, and 250
bootmii as boot2 and IOS
and the latest hackmii installer.

i updated via nintendo to test out stuff.

so i my specs are

4.2u via nintendo so that means no cIOS or trucha or bootmii

the homebrew channel gives me a black screen.
tried this bannerbomb and it freezes.

put this bannerbomb on my 4.1 wii and it also freezes.

edit: and obviously i was still going to the old bannerbomb spot.
tryied it again via sd menu and works perfect.

am reinstalling HBC right now
...bootmii and dvdx.

all installed correctly.

hbc works fine now.
awesome

Or maybe don't, so Nintendo can't track it down so easily. Ideally it should remain floating around on free file share sites, but failing that, at least change the subdomain or URL. Otherwise it's just a free invitation to block it in the next update.

Huh? If we can find it, Nintendo can find it. You can't keep it secret from Nintendo, unless you don't release it at all.

If you don't make it easy to find on pretty HTTP sites then Attack of the Show will not get involved and create public awareness through documentaries. If the general public is not aware than Nintendo isn't sufficiently interested to respond. Anything that makes it more difficult to obtain for the ignorant is a huge plus in preserving the exploits we have left.
