@Simon Shiny Quagsire said on twitter he wasnt sure if it was about the CDN or Homebrew , so have your eyes open on 5x nintendo could sniff every detail
He probably modified his clothes to have perks that aren't available on those specific clothes. Or unlocked something unobtainable.with splathex
Wii U didn't have authentication on the eShop.I hope they dont start to check logs of 3ds and wii U CDN x)
This depends. Lets say there's an exploit that's important to use and it hypothetically requires a web applet, and lets say the ban prevents you from loading any web applets, then you're now going to miss out on using that exploit. So what happens when you are banned am I right in saying it would mean no online and no Eshop but otherwise no change?
Odd thing is for me I’m not bothered about online and banning people from Eshop will encourage piracy on systems that might only want homebrew.
Is there any other downsides I am missing as it seems if you are not bothered about online then no major issue?
It's true.Liar.
They won't do that, just because you hacked one system, they shouldn't bother you on another one.I hope they dont start to check logs of 3ds and wii U CDN x)
If you aren't connected to the internet I'd guess you're finehow would i know if i've been banned i cant access eshop since im not on latest firmware
I mean, not playing Smash online is a bit of a bummer imo...So what happens when you are banned am I right in saying it would mean no online and no Eshop but otherwise no change?

My guess would be that games perform a server check before going online, nintendo can't be that stupidFair enough thats a good point but with the old switch we always have at least an entry point to boot CFW so is there anything we may need another exploit for other than Softmod rather than a hardmod? Curious as I’m trying to weigh up how major it would be.
This is true however most of my play is local with friends or family so while it would be an issue I would rather have cfw on my switch. Also not as clued up on this stuff as others but would it be possible to have hacked servers for us all to use even if we had been banned? My assumption here is that banning us stops the console from connecting to Nintendo servers. so if we had our own servers would we be able to do everything just with a much smaller player base?

But he used in in Aug 2017 why would they hold off for 9 months then ban him?

You lost your purchases (DLCs) and probably game updates too, some games are broken without those updates
