Ah, I didn't know that.That's Nintendo's official stance. They guarantee support of up to 32 GB as the maximum capacity. However, a lot of 3DS users have already been using cards bigger than that using 128/200/256 GB cards. Theoretically, the 3DS should be able to handle 2TB (yes, two terabytes or ~2000 GB) under the FAT32 format.
400/512 GB microSDXC should work, albeit REALLY slowly in load times.
