I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work. But it baffles me how anyone could fill a 256GB SD card with 3DS games

Some pirates just want every single game.
Not that they're ever going to play it.

The ones that say they do are lying.

I mean okay, I've got full romsets for retro consoles like the NES but that takes up about 700MB. Why would you pay ~200 Dollars for a 400GB mSD card to fill it up with games you're never gonna play? Sorry for my ignorance , but I just don't understand those people

I dumped a copy of Ultra Sun and I never touched it after.

SD card was corrupted 3 months later. 32GB of games and...who knows were lost.

I.. have more then just a "full romset for retro consoles", then again I only have clean ROMS for digital preservation.

But yeh, the same people want to have 8TB harddrives work on Wii USB loaders.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with wanting to have all the games, that's perfectly fine!
But instead of having every single 3DS game installed on your 3DS on an SD card, you can
get an HDD for very cheap and get a lot more storage, 1 TB is typically $50-$60.

If a 256GB Works, i can not imagine why a 400GB works. But as michis97 has stated, how can you fill a 256GB MicroSDHC with 3ds games?

Isn’t there a 300 tile limit on the 3ds? So you couldn’t install them all anyway

*300 titles per a single Nintendo 3DS folder. You can have more than 300 titles on an SD card if you have EmuNANDs or switching between multiple Nintendo 3DS folders using GodMode9.

If you're going for 400 GB, you should consider the 512 GB micro SDXC by Integral.

That's Nintendo's official stance. They guarantee support of up to 32 GB as the maximum capacity. However, a lot of 3DS users have already been using cards bigger than that using 128/200/256 GB cards. Theoretically, the 3DS should be able to handle 2TB (yes, two terabytes or ~2000 GB) under the FAT32 format.

400/512 GB microSDXC should work, albeit REALLY slowly in load times.
