According to CVG, Amazon once again was the source of a significant leak when they posted the box art for what we now know is God of War 4 for PS3. On their official blog, Sony later confirmed the news. Entitled God of War: Ascension, Sony has an official reveal event scheduled for April 30.

"I’m sure your mouth is watering for more, but unfortunately I have to leave you with that for now. Be sure to tune in to PlayStation.Blog and God of War: Ascension on Facebook on Monday, April 30th at 8am Pacific Time for a live streaming event that will give you a glimpse of what’s in store for God of War: Ascension. You mean Omega? It's a Greek alphabet that's also the SI unit for resistance.

And the logo looks like Omega because it is, it's always been the logo for God of War

So it's a prequel? I was kinda looking forward to seeing how and where they took the serires/character after GoW 3. Not that I ever played any GoW games but the PSP ones, and not likely to play this.

I don't know, a prequel seems kind of like a step backwards for the series. Besides, hasn't Kratos already killed enough people already? Even for God of War this is getting excessive!

Indeed, not only did he kill countless people but he killed many gods. Will there be no end to his bloodlust?

There are still some unanswered questions like how did kratos get the red tattoo thing

Sony didnt say it is sequel aka part 4.. We will know for sure at the end of April 30. I got a feeling that it is going to be prequel but who know. I hope that it is prequel because we want to know how he got his red tattoo and why doe God of War Ares do those cruel things to him. Some people say it is just war paint.. we dont need their opinion and guess. Can't wait for those to be reveal from Sony someday.

Ascension the belief in some religions that there are certain rare individuals that have ascended into Heaven directly without dying first (well kratos died already though)

and maybe Kratos became more like Athena(but not like the green transparent being) but he ascended to another level of being a god or something or ascended to being more awesome!
