Hacking Get rid of banner brick on 3.4 without TP Hack

Ok heres my findings

I cant patch the ios on 3.3e because of the trucha is stoped on 3.3e

I have patched the ios to see if it works on a 3.2e wii, it does if ios 16 is installed

All i can see i can do to fix my problem is find an update disc higher than wii music 3.3e is there a 3.3v2?

Btw Flatmii is a devs dream save on discs

Hope one of you guys can give me a hint on what i could do

Ok, finally I got the gay fish to work on my 3.2 PAL wii.

1. patch the iso to PAL using hex editor:
(just change 010E01 to 010P01) then burn it.
2. Make sure u do not block any updates with any software like preloader/starfall/etc.
2b. If your chipped, also check the block update option on the chip.
3. Run the disc through recovery mode (using savemii or the free alternative)

Tried this on 3.2e and 3.4e - confirm working -
But seems to fail on 3.3

If you have too much time you could test if you are able to boot the disc with SoftChip, maybe with disc settings video mode. And if it works you could try to autoboot a softchip disc to boot the recovery disc.

WiiShizzza you can get it to work on 3.2e by patching the ios mate

Its 3.3e we need to crack

Im going to try somthing crazy, im going to update my wii with the jap 3.4 firmware

You see i have about 10 wiis lol, so i will preload .27 with one the go to 3.3e and up grade to jap 3.4
and hope then i can tp hack and anyregion change a messed system menu##

silly me preloader is no good cos the system menu will be wiped

and hope for the best lol

I still cant get into the system menu after trying fellaw method

Cant we use this disc to install what we like from sd card this must be a huge hole we can use for unbricking

Ok heres how i got the Recovery Disc working from 3.3 to 3.4

I used Mario Tennis Jap patched it to PAL then Bootme

Then used SaveMii to boot into recovery menu with the Mario disc in waited 5 min and the menu 3.3E turned to 3.4E and recovery disc worked

Bad news

When i follow Fellaw guide, i just get a blank screen if i delete all at the end, if i dont i still see the health screen brick
But the game boots with savemii in, Im stuck now

I tell ya there is defo an idea to use this disc to make custom recovery

Did you try to delete all right after the 3.4E update? You should try to to restore a full backup from a working 3.4E first, before delete all. As you wrote you had one ready, just use the backup disc on it. Backup will be stored to front SD.

I did that(as I wrote in my initial post), and afterwards the recovery disc gave a blank screen when using NTSC. I had to patch it to PAL first, after that I deleted all and the brick was gone. Maybe you have a similar situation here.



Nice to read that at least the update was doing it's job. We should be able to think of a way getting the rest done.
