Homebrew gbaemu4ds: GBA emulator for DS(i) (DSi Entry)

Is the graphic better if you use the sc Version and the upper screen on a 3DS

  • I can't do that (have no 3DS) (have not tested that)

Have you tried running it under Wine?
My computer can't support Wine. It supports QEMU (barely) so the best I can do is take a hellishly slow PowerPC G4 Mac and emulate ReactOS on it which would be even slower. And even then ReactOS uses Wine so it may not work after all that

My brother a tech-savy guy says that "this will never work, the hardware is incapable of supporting this without an expansion or a specialized flash cart."
I like to be optimistic about these kind of endeavors, but what are your thoughts on this?

If you had any other associations in the associations.ini, that's the only thing that would be overwritten. Also, if you renamed the included HBMenu.nds file, you're going to have to change the associations.ini with the updated name as well. Also, the patch is manual. It's not going to automatically start, you have to select the patch.pat and then the save then the ROM.

Ichichfly, do you mind making a port of the patch maker to Mac? My main computer has a corrupted registry and my uncle currently has the installation disk for Windows XP. So a Macintosh is all I've got.

you should be able to run it with mono as it is written in C#

He's half right. The DS is not powerful enough (3x the power of GBA, iirc) to emulate the GBA. This "emulator" is actually a hypervisor. You don't need to emulate the GBA's processor because the DS and GBA both have an ARM7.

EDIT: DOUBLE POST EVADE

My computer has Mono, but how do I run the exe with it? Do I need source code?

EDIT: Never mind, my computer's fixed.

no you don't need the src I don't know how to use mono. I use mostly Windows only exception BT and a live DVD but they are both Linux not MAC OS

I used newirq for these tests. Selecting to use DEFAULT.PAT didn't do anything. All settings default except Save Type was of course Flash 128K.
Both Ruby and FireRed whitescreened after the following appeared on the bottom screen.
Code:
CPULoadRom...generating file map
 (size 262152 Byte)OK
CPUInit
CPUReset
BIOS_RegisterRamReset
dmaCopy
arm7init
irqinit
emulateedbiosstart
ndsMode
gbaInit
gbaMode2
jump to (02134000)
It's worth mentioning that I'm using an Acekard 2i, but that has never been a problem before.

The sounds emulation improved with beta1 test1, but Ruby doesn't work right now. Also, I don't know if it even helped Ruby.
As for saving, have you tried using the European ROM?

Arg, the lag! although this emulator is the greatest thing people said would never happen, I have had 100% compatibility with all homebrew tried, and most games, some sprite errors, and in monkeyball jr you can see the text rendering off the gba screen.
keep up the awesome work!
