HELLO
3DS FW 9.5 is compatible with CFW dowgrade in 4.5, if not it's possible solution ?

Any 3DS with 9.5 is incompatible for installing Emunand and incompatible with Gateway, therefore no downgrades to 4.5.

Sky3DS/QQ3DS is your only option for running games, besides of course buying them.

yesterday buyed ocarina of time brand new.
LNA-CTR-AQEP-EUR on the front.
AQEP241001 on the back of cartrigde.
my eur N3DS is on 9.0.0.2
the exploit is working with my zelda, but need sometimes a few try's.
this are bugs that are in the launcher.dat.
emunand on 9.5.0.23 and tryed 1 game,mh4,working fine.
need more testing, but no time atm.
think most of the problems are bug related and will be fixed in next update.

Comparing to the previous versions of GW launcher and emunand, this method is rather uncomfortable. Ofc this is step in good direction, but I ll postpone buying of N3DS untill GW starts working on the
same level as on the old 3DS.

N3DS XL here. Formated emunand on a 32gb microsd. Works fine although in settings it doesn't say GW3D. Updated emunand to 9.5 and sysnand is still 9.2 so all good.

I had that issue, had to rerun the exploit and format the emunand on the N3DS. again. After that had to set up as new. Then update the emunand again then had to login to Nintendo network for all the eshop stuff to transfer over and had to download everything from the eshop.

I am going to try this a bit later. If it works, I can send you a tip VIA paypal or bitcoin. Your choice :)

EDIT: SUCCESS! You're awesome. Check your PM's

Just formatted emunand but can't see the GW3D near the version.
So I organized the files differently in both nands, and it does seem like I am in emunand even though there is no GW3D.

Is it OK to update even though there is no "GW3D" near the version?

EDIT: updating now, how it all goes well!

DO NOT update unless you see "GW3D" or else you risk updating your sysnand. Are you using the original 4GB Micro SD card? If not this is most likely your issue.

Oh crap, I started updating. Should I turn off the system?

But the guy 2 posts above me said he didn't have GW3D either...

There's a bug where GW doesn't show up. I updated without it, and I was fine.
In future though, make sure you're in the right NAND by making folders/changing themes and checking that they don't stick when switching NANDs.

You may have a chance of just updating emunand, sonic said he updated his without the sign and the Gw sign thing is just a bug. However if you didnt formant emunand before this then you may be out of luck.

I actually had a question about the themes.. on my old 3ds I could set up a different theme for the sysnand and emunand (which was nice to determine which one i was in). But for some reason on my new 3ds they are linked together and are always the same.. is there a way to change that?

You need to format either your SysNAND or EmuNAND (whichever is more convenient for you), so you get two folders inside the Nintendo 3DS folder on your SD card.

I'm not sure about multiple themes but you can unlink them .

See
You need to unlink your sysnand and emunand. Take out your internal microSD and in sysnand do a system format in settings. After that insert your internal microSD back into your console. It will seperate both sysnand and emunand with a new folder in your microSD.

OK wtf, now I'm having a different kind of problem...
When I press select to go into the rom-selction screen, I get a "filesystem error".

EDIT: OK formatted and it works now.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
