this is what i really don't understand


WHY DID THEY RELEASE SUPPORT FOR OOT FIRST!

i mean it makes no god damn sense, the CN exploit has been out and known about forever
they showed CN in their GW rom menu in their videos even

i would think they would have had an easier time making it work with CN than OOT
PLUS if they released the beta with CN support instead of OOT support then they would have looked better because they would have ha to tell their customers that not only did they need a hard to find expensive game like OOT but also either an old 3ds or a sav dongle since CN just needs the QR code scanned not a restored exploited sav file

this whole thing is a bit worrying to me, but i just ordered PAL a copy of CN for my imported N3dsXL

im just worried that if it was so easy to make it work with CN they would have done it first before OOT

it seems like a really odd choice for them to release OOT as the game and not CN

unless they figured more people have OOT and it had a much larger production run

i was going to import a OOT till the shit storm broke out about 60% of them not working with GW

CN still seemed like the safer bet and cheaper option too, i got a good deal , $23

probably so they didnt get a bunch of stick for "stealing others work"........like yeah we can do it on ourselves....now we can take yours too

Oh so anyone with a Japanese New 3DS want to help me out?

Here are the symptoms.
All working, except when i boot into gateway mode. Also emunand is "broken" will take on the theme of the sysnand but not the icon arrangement, system menu doesn't show i'm in a emunand and i can;t load anything. Multirom menu or legit games.

Thme data is stored on sd. Icon settings on nand. So that is normal lol.
But yes I have the same problem as you. 8.1J
Let me know if you fix it

If they got it to work with CN easily they would have done that first. Launching gateway from a QR code hack is probably harder than a simple save data exploit. Give them a break. Cheezus Crust

If they released CN first they would get flak for piggybacking off of Smea's work

yes ONLY update from clicking SETTINGS (making sure you see GW3D in the firmware)

then update...once you exit the settings it goes back to SYSNAND. Don't risk it

did you already update SYSNAND by accident?

im not criticizing i am just wondering why they did it
if it was because it is actually harder for them to make it work with CN or because they though that OOT would be better since more copies were printed and it is in wider circulation and maybe because they saw what happened after ninjhax was released with the gouging and though OOT woudl be less gouge-able since there are more copies in circulation

, im just wonder what their logic is and if i should worry of feel secure that i made the right descision on importing a CN early

No, but this new update doesn't show GW3D in front of the system version, even when I've made sure I'm in emunand.
Since it's not safe to update any other way, I can't update emunand past 9.0, I guess. For now.

so when you boot into EMUAND and click the wrench it does NOT show GW3D?....that's strange...what size MicroSD card are you using?

and yeah...until it says GW3D...it's best to leave good enough alone until you know for sure it will update EMUNAND

plus cubic ninja also relies on the browser iirc....so oot is the only real choice for 8.1J users

Exactly, with OoT...all regions can benefit..if Gateway released CN first...people with JAP N3DS would bitch and moan (as CN did not see a retail release in Japan and 3DS is region locked)

hmmm your in a bit of a predicament, i would say try updating to 9.5 emunand to see if that helps, just make 100% sure you have emunand set up, i know it doesnt actually show it in the settings, but im guessing they have messed up the FW patches for 8.1 JPN

but once ninjhax is installed initially you don't need internet access everytime
just the 1st time you install it so wouldn't it work the same with GW?

i also have the game but its for my region and i have an import N3DS , it looks like a good one too judging by the numbers on it

yeah that got annoying I pushed B and then A (until I updated to the newest emunand) Maybe try a smaller MicroSD card?.....I have a 16gb and I can confirm that works = ]

why am I hearing this news that it only had an eShop release??

Smea said that ther JAP retail version of Cubic Ninja for this exploit just plain doesn't work. Only the eShop version works. Which has now been pulled from digital distribution. so pretty much for the N3DS. Japanese 3DS's without OoT are out of luck as when the CN exploit comes out. It won't work for them
