Since updating to the update that added the quick start menu I've had a weird issue. It says the game pad is not connected. If I unplug the Wii U then plug the power cable back it then it works!!! I turned off the quick start feature and it seemed to stop. The issue returned. I am now on 5.2. If anyone has ideas, please share them. I have hacked the vWii but everything worked fine before that first update as I said above.
