Gaming game froze in AW:DS

Does anyone ever have their game frozen while playing Advance Wars Dual Strike? It happened to me today while playing war room map: Mial's Hope. Right when it entered the battle sequence, the bottom touch screen turned black but the music just continued playing. I got pissed and threw my Ds lite cause I was almost finished and just finishing the enemy off. Is it a software bug or does it have something to do with the cart?

You will have to be more specific if you want much help.
Judging by your past posts I am going to assume you are playing on an XRom and so are using a Generic patcher.
If you are using NDSPatcher use loadme instead (Crashing under NDSPatcher is a known issue) and if you are using the Euro dump make sure to have the pure patch (OK it only fixes a corrupt sound file but what the hey):
