Hi guys, the last time i bought a flash cart was the R4 revolution for the DS Lite and that was quite a while.

So now i have a DSi XL and i know that the R4 doesnt work on it. Given the endless ammount of possibilities, i wanted some help to pick the best cart regarding its price and how good it runs, emulation wise. That is all im interested in.

All i care about it is to be able to play some translated gems that didnt get the chance to come to the west. GBA, SNES and DS. I dont care about other mambo jambo like extra features and whatnot.

Note - I also have a 3DS Xl, but i dunno if it makes any difference using the same cart on different consoles. IM A NOOB.

Thanks!

You might want to install arm9loaderhax onto your 3dsxl and then buy an r4i dual core for ds games. You can find more info at reddit.com/r/3dshacks.

GBA games you can play directly but snes games you can play directly only on the new 3ds i think. Or you can use snes emulator but this emulator is pretty terrible.

You only need the flashcart for the DS games. The emulator on o3ds for snes is fine and works very well, so I don't know why sergey3000 is saying it's terrible.

are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
i just didint know the homebrew launcher didint exist in aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
