Gaming Firmware Update Compilation thread / List of Flashcards working on 3DS

My DSi XL is running 1.4.0 and it works just fine.

The 3DS is a different unit, with different firmware updates, and the 3DS's firmware updates are up to 4.4.x, and still going.

They do additional blocks beyond what the DSi did.

I have HW81 for my acekard2i, that's good right?

edit: Looks like as long as the 3DS doesn't have 4.4 I'm good, but 4.3 there is an update for this one.

Yeah the ID81 ones can be updated, so apply the 4.3 update for it.

with all 3 being down its likely system updates for all possibly
so 3DS 5.0.0-11, Wii 4.4 or maybe version 5.0, DSi 1.5 possible too
as it will be a big update most likely allowing all consoles to have similar interfaces

this is all speculation but would most likely happen at some point

If this really happens, I hope that flashcards survive this update.
The last update was really annoying, and I'm afraid the next one will be even more.

i have checked all consoles and can confirm there was no updates after the shops going back up
they may have just added all the information for a new update tho

id expect one soon due to WiiU release anyway

A new update would be essential to make 3DS compatible with WiiU.
I'd also expect an update to DSi.

well any flashcards dead you can see what they where last updated to and then got no more
obviously the currently blocked is also kinda dead but i d assume we will likely see more dead on the next update if Nintendo block games that are the same type of setup as Metroid Prime Demo

I just purchased an R4i Gold 3DS card (I'm assuming one of the newer model ones), however I also neglected to check if my current firmware on my 3DS is going to work with this at all.

From what I can tell on the main post here, the R4i Gold 3DS is supposed to work with firmware version 4.4.0-10. Whats throwing me off here however, is that on my 3DS it says my firmware version is specifically 4.4.0-10U. My question is, what does the U mean in this case, and is it relevant? Am I going to have issues having the card updated?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

E = Europe
doesn't affect the update its just an indication to the user of the device region

well if your console is already on 4.4.0-10 yep
did you check if you card is already updated?
you can just check to see what game starts up

I actually only just ordered the card a few hours ago, haven't gotten it yet I'll keep that info in mind though. Surprisingly they've actually already shipped it with tracking, assuming it shows up and works ok I'll definitely be recommending the seller in the future.

where did you order from?
if was zhuzhu will normally be updated to latest before shipped anyway

ive not heard of them personally but they do state it will be upgraded to the latest before shipping so you might not have to update the flashcard unless a 3ds update comes out before it reaches you

guys GEi released a new card called GEi PRO that supports 4.4.0-10 Firmwares.. looks like a R4 Wood based kernel is used for their new product.
