Tinfoil (modded v5) has been behaving poorly since updating firmware from 10.2.0 to 11.0.1 and Atmosphere from 0.14.4 to 0.18.x. I've been using it happily for a long time across various firmware and Atmosphere versions. Apart from a USB related error if that destination is enabled (I know why, not an issue) there are now occasional stalls mid-download and stalls nearing the end of the download at presumably the installation phase which have sometimes returned an error something roughly like 'write placeholder thread timeout'. There's plenty of space available when this occurs. I've seen a few other random errors I haven't seen before too, I forget what they were, one mentioned something about NCZ header. After having a few of these failed attempts, which occurred via lan + ftp server and then from files put on the sd card itself, returning to the home screen every game began failing with the error "the software could not start". The last errors were about the write placeholder. Rebooting doesn't help. Legit / OFW / sysnand runs normally, with games installed on internal and sd. I can access the homebrew menu and homebrew without issue. Checkpoint is able to save normally.
I'd like to hear any ideas as to what's going on, with Tinfoil's new problems, what mark Tinfoil may've left where, and how I might possibly fix it. Reformatting and starting from scratch is a last resort - I'm not thrilled about reinstalling a crapload of games, restoring their saves, doing partitions for dual boot again, etc. It's not a sigpatch issue as I was briefly playing games normally on this firmware / Atmosphere version. I've previously had no hint of problems with the Switch or sd card.
