1) SSX 5 is dead, rivalry between fall 2008 PS360 snowboarding titles of Montreal studios still existent.
2) The Mother/Earthbound series is coming to Wii and/or DS stateside, very possibly next year.
3) Team Ico is working on two titles (maybe three), one major and the other(s) smaller. The smaller one(s) is/are more like Echochrome and does/do not take place inside the Ico canon.
4) Kane & Lynch 2 is still happening.
5) Also to look forward to next year is "Shrek going to unprecedented video game territory." Using skills of deduction, it is either a music title or a quality title. It is fairly obvious that the latter is definite no, so it probably a musical title.
6) Even more exciting unprecedented occurrence in interactive entertainment is the release of a new Leisure Suit Larry title and a new Sex & the City titles in the same year for mobile communication tools, computing devices and other things.
7) A2M is working on Indiana Jones for people who cannot stand to play consoles with the number three in the name--DS/Wii/PS2/PSP.
8) EA's Wii Balance Board title ain't SSX.
9) Cyclomite is absolutely amazing.
10) When is Rage coming out?
Second half of 2009.

Yay. But I can't possibly believe that. We have been fooled too many times

But I think that at least Mother 2 will appear on the VC.

I would kill to have the Mother series running perfectly on my DS. I'd commit genocide if it was in English.

I think I'll cry myself to sleep if this is just a false alarm. Oh Nintendo! Why must you do this to us???

I don't think Nintendo will ever release the other Earthbound games here. They had Earthbound 0 (Mother 1) completely done and ready to release in America, but never did. Then they were making Earthbound 64 and canceled that. Then they made Mother 3 on the GBA along with ports of Mother 1 and 2 for the GBA which they said all 3 games would come to America. Yeah.

Earthbound for NES was cancelled because it was too late, SNES was already on the shelf and Nintendo thought it wouldn't sell well. Earthbound64 was cancelled because Itoi's team had serious problems with 3D, and after all much that delay, the project was abandoned. And after the low sales of Earthbound ("THIS GAME STINKS!" with an ad campaign like that, I can believe it) they thought that Mother1+2 or Mother3 wouldn't sell well too.

But they're ABSOLUTELY wrong

Right you are. But there a bunch of tards, even on GBATemp that insist there aren't enough fans in the US (wrong). And the thing is EB 1, 2 & 3 are already developed. We're talking translations &/or polishing. The fact that Nintendo holds out on us makes me crazy.

Yeah, right. I can't believe that after all Starmen.net did they're still not doing it. Even only the users of Starmen.net would be enough for these games to sell well

VC is easy.

A port of the Mother 1+2 with an English script inserted too. Mother 3, not as much. It hasn't been translated. Though... The DS hardware is far more similar to GBA than fans believe or would ever admit.

Heh, Surfer Girl has no proof to back this up.
It is just a guess - and you folks shouldn't believe it.

Nintendo has no intention on doing anything with the Mother series, or they would of done it by now (EarthBound came out in the 90s, and they've done nothing with it since).

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
