Hey, this may be a noob question, but I've googled quite a bit and I can't seem to find anything.

I just managed to get the homebrew launcher working on my 2DS and it seems like I can now do a whole bunch of cool things. However, the main reason I wanted to install it was to play romhacks of DS games without downloading ROMs from the internet (because it's illegal). I know, I'll never get caught and it's not going to hurt anyone, but I don't care since I don't feel comfortable doing that.

Anyways, I tried using braindump but that of course didn't work, since it doesn't support DS games. I also tried Decrypt9, but that didn't work because I'm running ver 11.1.0-34U, and it doesn't work past 9.something. I saw a thing called Wooddumper 3DS but that looked complicated to install and I wasn't sure if it would work. So can someone tell me if it would work, or it

Hey before you make any mistake and update, make sure to follow this guide 3ds.guide

They're torrent links because it gives out illegal copyrighted content, that would probably be taken down from a server. Thats why even some of the smaller files are torrents.

Are there any ways of ripping cartridges without downloading them? Otherwise it makes more sense to download the roms, since it's illegal either way.

Some people just feel better about dumping their own, and honestly i do too. If i can dump it i do it. It's also a much quicker way of testing a game i own in twloader, since i can just run it directly after dumping.

When you follow 3ds.guide and everything is all finished, you can hold down start when booting the console up to boot into godmode9. You can use this to dump ds roms from a cartridge.

I mean I know there will be basically zero consequences for downloading roms, but I'm not comfortable with downloading them.

But that requires me to download illegal copyrighted content - is it the only way?

Yes, that is the only way

It means that I can't use my 2DS to get DS roms.

I suppose I could get SM64DS from the Wii U virtual console and rip it from there, so it's not too big of a deal.
