How many plug-ins are you using?
Try deleting a few (or transfer them to your PC) and try again.
With my 8gig, there are no other plugins other than iReader, Moonshell, and DiagnoSe, all of which I deleted hoping that would fix it, but it didn't...Maybe it just doesn't work on Sandisk, it doesn't even work on my 16gig nor my 4gig, which are all sandisk

Ok, since I put this on my sd card, it has been giving me white screens.
But it's not just that, my gba emulator (which I updated at the same session that i put my iplayer on there) is giving me white screens as well, just like my snes emulator, which i didn't update.
All other (third party) plugins do seem to work.
EDIT: In the same session that I put this on my card, I also updated to eos 1.08. Could that have to do with it?

Well, it works perfectly fine on my Sandisk (8GB).
Just let me get this right:
Do you have the _ds2Video folder in the root of your SD?
Do you have 3 "movie" files (x1 PLG, x1 BMP, x1 the other one which I can't remember) in the _dstwoplug folder?
Are you using the latest firmware?

try eos 1.07 or eos 1.05

the fact is that i know that eos 1.05 works perfectly with the movie player

Yes to all of the above.

Never mind, it was my sd acting up

Sorry for bothering you XD

I can't understand why some people are having problems with this, the white screens suggest that the plugin is not being loaded, but maybe the resources are not, who knows

Anyway, it worked perfectly for me with both the official plugin menu and with iMenu, just make sure to extract the _dstwoplug and _ds2Video to the root of your card. Windoes will as if you want to merge the _dstwoplug folder with the existing one, say 'yes' for all files, which will just copy movie.ini, movie.plg and movie.bmp to the _dstwoplug folder. This should work fine for the official menu, if you use iMenu, just follow the usual steps to create a new movie.ini in the _iMenu/_ini folder.

Damn the haters, this ROCKS.

I can only see this feature improving in the future.

Mid profile files working excellent here, high profile a bit stuttering, but that's more than ok.

..... In the same session that I put this on my card, I also updated to eos 1.08. Could that have to do with it?I doubt it - I've got 1.08 eos & 'iPlayer' works just fine on my card, even if I use iMenu as the default OS

The ONLY problem I have/had is with the following method

Boot up to offical DSTwo plugin menu > Run DS_Game > Select iMenu.nds >Select 'iPlayer'
What happens is that iMenu boots back to offical DSTwo plugin menu,& If I reselect 'DS_Game' it then boots straight into 'iPlayer'

Incidentally - I have noticed that when starting iPlayer you DO get 2 white screens first, then bottom screen has blue/black vertical stripes then the player controls/file selector pop up, so your white screens COULD be part of the normal bootup of it - but something is preventing it from going any further, so I tried a little experiment....

I removed the 'default' folder from the '/_ds2video/ui/' & guess what I got..... 2 white screens (although I STILL got a quick flash of blue/black vertical stripes on the bottom)

Further experimenting & I've come up with these tips:-
  • IF you get the flash of blue/black on the bottom screen
    - check your 'default' folder out - you might have a corrupt file or something
  • IF you DON'T get the blue/black flash on the bottom screen
    - check to see if the 'asc10.fon.bin' file exists. If it does it might be corrupted
  • IF you end up with white screen on top & blue/black striped on bottom screen
    - check to see if the 'globalsettings.ini' file exists
Let us know if any of these fix your problem

well, you'll be wasting time sacrifising time for quality

also it "looks" better maybe because the aspect ratio on non dpg files is too small/big

it takes 2 minutes to convert a episode of something to DPG4

hey spinal, when I put the movie.plg in the iMenu's _plg folder and changed the .ini to it, it did not load, but when I move the movie.plg to _dstwoplug, set the .ini to it, it worked
when it was in the iMenu's _plg, I check like 10 times and even compared the .ini files to make sure it was correct and it was..

Custom skin doesn't change a thing. Resetting to the default skin is the first thing I tried, but it didn't change a thing (well, except the skin of course, but you know what I mean). Besides, how could the visual layout of a menu have any impact on an application loading or not? That's like saying a certain computer application won't run if you aren't using the default background, which clearly makes no sense whatsoever. :l
Well, I realy don´t know why it´s working for me with the preinstalled skin from EOS and didn´t with PipBoy3k2 (Main menu, DSGame Menu but not the loading screen).
All I know is it didn´t work prior to me changing the files of the main menu skin (folder _dstwo/plug) back to EOS 1.8 default.
Maybe it´s because I used the exact same custom files since EOS 1.5? Idk.

I got it to work...
I always extract everything(roms, firmwares, apps, etc) to one folder
but instead of extracting dstwo_iplayer_v1.0_eng to that location, I open it, than drag and drop _ds2video and _dstwoplug onto desktop

Than I made a _dstwoplug folder in root(because I deleted mine when using iMenu)
set the path to file=/_dstwoplug/movie.plg

now it works..this is weird, I'm not sure if drag and drop fixed it or if it was putting the movie.plg in _dstwoplug that fixed it
same here

Yup, I tried that as well as a few other things and I got the same thing. I have been trying to make it work all day
