I don't think the number of files in your "games" folder was ever the problem.
I've been around here quite a while and had a few DSTT's. Bri is correct, it is advisable to put all your games in a single "games" folder and you do not need to create multiple games folders.

Actually, having a single "games" folder is beneficial for sorting as well. Also keep a (normally empty) "tmp" folder. Whenever you add a new game, just sort the games alphabetically, select all, drag to tmp folder, select all, and drag back to games folder. It takes about 5 secs and your games will then always appear sorted in the DS menu.

It will and it shall.

I believe you mean: It 'may' and it 'can'.
You should really try not to state your beliefs as absolute fact.

Clearly from other's responses this is at worst an intermittent issue, only effecting some (small % of) DSTTs.
The majority of users who do everything else (that bri helpfully suggests) correctly have no issues with large numbers of files so long as they are in a folder.

As I said, I have used multiple different hardware revisions with my 8gb card with 170+ games. There are at least 1/2 that many save files also, all in the one folder. After at least 100 hours of use I have had 0 issues.

Count Duckula, do you have over 256 files in your "games" folder?

-Bri

289 currently.

I guess its easy to fake that image, but why the hell would I bother, taking the card out of the dstt was enough effort.

EDIT: There are no folders in that dir.
