I, being a proud owner of both, recommend the XL.
It's beautiful

Besides, who wouldn't want 3 free titles too eh?

XL > DSi

But For you. How does it fit in your pocket?

Two Solutions:
-Use a bag.
-Use a big pocket (yes it fits in big pockets even with a protective case on)

Also, you ask, I recommend, then you disagree??

Believe me the XL is a beauty really. Oh yeah and a whole lot louder

I've added a poll to your post.

To my knowledge there is little technical difference between the DSi and the DSi XL.
So based on that, I'd say that an extra $16 is worth the up-sizing.

And you actually carry a game console around in your pocket?
You're a braver man than I.

XL has three big pro's over the DSi:
  • Bigger Screens makes you get into the game more.
  • Better Sound. Yes I know it's the same speakers as the DSi's, but the sound quality and loudness is amazing in the XL.
  • Pen Stylus - At first it feels awkward, but it gives you a whole lot better precision because of you having a better grip.
  • You can easily place it on a table or your lap and still see the screens no problem, and the text.
  • Essentially, as what AnotherWorld said, the XL is what the DSi should have been in the first place.
Now the cons:
  • Doesn't necessarily fit in all pockets. For mine, it fits in them just nice.
  • [insert random con here]

TQ. never crossed my mind to add a poll.

wait no one else does that? I feel it much safer to have my console within skin contact for security and peace of mind. Having it in my bag will make me wonder about it and checking to see if its still there every 15 or so seconds.

I'm sure some people do, but after a bad experience with a "Pocket PC" I've never carried anything small and electronic in my pocket again.

You either go with DSi XL, or DS Lite. There is really no point to have DSi (unless of course you want portability and DSiware the same time).

i use dsi with extandable stylus, works flawlessly
for one, it's smaller
i already clearly see the pixels on the dsi, i don't rly need them to be bigger or to need more space for the console:)
the dsi's cheaper too
though the xl has a much better battery-life
since dslite is not an option[which would be the perfect if u only want to play games], i'd say +1 for the normal dsi

I got an XL. I can pretty much text with the XL with my thumbs, and when it comes to movies, I have bigger screens.

Plus, the pen stylus is great, along with extended battery life.

DSi XL would be a better option. I don't see the point of buying a DSi when there's a DSi XL.

Based on features. between DSi and XL its just the enlarged screen right?

or is there any inconspicuous hardware changes like between the iPod Touch 8GB and 16GB
