I do not understand why the DSi has not been cracked (to run games dsi I mean). I do not understand the history of hackers who are unable to access the mode nad dsi. Finally, the truth is not that pirates do not want to do but they can not. Nintendo has also said that 3ds is even more secure! So I think this time it will buy the games.

muhuuaaaaa...should sony lose in court about the PS3's key, then the same would happen if nintendo challenged it. and after that...we'll move on to the 3DS, THEN THE WORLD!!!
Yes, the Earth shall be decrypted, and I will finally be able to liberate the moon from orbit, and make it gravitate towards us, mwahahahaha!

But in all seriousness, this is comparable to opening the topmost window on a 3 story building; oh, and you're on the streets, doors are still locked, no windows on the ground floor, and no grips to just climb up the side of the building up to it. Clearly, you'll have to make use of the city bus bench, and that trashcan behind you. In other words, MAKE a ladder. Can't guarantee that there won't be another set of locked doors once you DO manage to get inside, though.
The other main point is; do you even KNOW how to work those tools to MAKE that 'ladder' in the first place?

And in the event someone DOES succeed in hacking the dsi menu, dark contrast theme, please and thank you.

You know, I've been thinking, you know that new team who supposedly claim their hack can install HBC/ custom DSi channels, access to nand, read/write whatever. I think they may have had the common key and found exploits and putting it to use? Just a thought.

If not, I'm sure they can put this to good use considering if true what they got hold of the DSi inners.

Exciting stuff to come

Can we use the common key to try and find the private key so we can run flashcarts in DSi mode?
My guess is yes, but it would be more of a brute force action than anything else.

No.

It doesn't matter, apparently three teams will be releasing flashcarts soon which boot into DSi mode. The one that interests me the most is the unknown team that are able to install custom DSi channels and to what extent their hack goes.

Three? Only the Evo-i is even remotely a commercial product and it has been clearly stated that it allows some fairly limited functionality on the DSi. It is certainly not a full blown DSi mode even there. What are the other 2 products you are referring to?

the other is confirmed to be a flash card, from a popular team. Should have been annouced by now, maybe they ran into some roadblocks

the other is the "Dsi channel exploit" which we posted n Xmas eve way back in 2010

OzModChips will answer that

EDIT: Oh he has ^^'

dsi mode for flashcarts isn't really cool to me. i like the idea of installing custom channels. i want some dsi emulators. that would be cool.

Ok my bad.

To be honest I don't really pay attention to the DSi stuff too much since, there have been several 'announcements' of potential hacks and such but no real concrete analysis. So I generally attribute these to 'yeah whatever'. Once I see something in action I will perhaps become more interested. Blasty's analysis of the Datel "Game and Watch icon" hack was an interesting read, and that's really more what I'm looking for.

You people make it look like as if this is gonna fully hack the DSi when it's barely step 1 of doing so.

This was the difficult step dude, now comes the easier part

This wasn't the difficult step. TT have had the key since September 2009. ( Go to http://www.whois.net/ and run a "whois" on the dsi common key with a .com - can't give the link to the whois as that'd have the common key in it). Seeing as they haven't been able to do that much, it shows that this is of little use.

And BTW, to the people talking about Cyclo's DSi mode flash card and how this key will allow all flash cards to do that (which it very much won't, but that's not actually what I'm going to say): Speculation is that their flash card is a clone of the game "Cooking Coach" with a modified version of the save game exploit payload released by wintermute ages ago, modified to load code from the internal micro SD card slot. Just a vaguely interesting side note, quite unrelated to the topic at hand

Team cyclo has promised the beta version will allow us to play DSi games. Aren't DSi games encrypted or is it due to once you get access to DSi mode/hardware, DSi games will load? They must have cracked it. Due to my limited knowledge I may be wrong.

My guess (and nothing more than a guess) is they can decrypt with the common key then re-encrypt using the DSis individual key, since I think that is how it works when downloading DSiware.

.....That would be DSi mode.

In DS mode, the extra processor power and RAM is locked out, essentially making it a DS.
