Hi! Could somebody help me. I got to the second town (where bazzaar is), there i have bought the best equipment they could offer, and now all monsters on the map couldn't hit me most of times (they always miss), and i kill almost all of them in 1 hit. So the question is- Is this normal for DQ6 or this is some form of AP/glitch of patched version? I have previously played DQ4 and DQ5 - they were much harder!Help much appreciated.
...what the hell, glitch? What part of best equips and noob and really easy monsters do you not understand?Your just in the first part man say that when you beat the final boss in one hit.(Now thats a glitch)
Damn why are there so many stupid questions in this hype tread.

There more stupid answers (is it so hard to answer normally) than stupid questions and as i said i have played DQ4 Dq5, they were much harder even in the beginning.

Nope, that's Dragon Quest. What you did is the formula for staying alive in the beginning. That said, you not getting hit is a little weird.

In the Japanese version the AP was mostly limited to the opening dream sequence loop. I'd mostly watch if your damage is scaling up in accordance with your level and weapons. If you're doing 5 damage and killing things in one shot, on something that is other than a slime then there might be something to it. You'd have to correlate your experience with some data otherwise it's hard to determine what is going on. If you can read Japanese, peruse one of the online FAQs and look up some monsters. They list HP/MP values. If you find that your damage is in line with those values then you're probably ok.

The only 'weird' thing you're listing is the fact that monster are constantly missing you. This definitely seems odd. Even slimes will hit you even if it's only for 1 damage. Are you using a patched rom or a clean one?

Thank you for normal reply - i will try to do what you suggest. The strange thing is not that i m killing weak monsters in 1 hit, but that monsters keep missing on me almost every time - haven't seen anything like this in any other DQ. (Sometimes monsters were missing - but it was very rare). This start happening when i equip best equipment for second town. I think the easiest way to find out is this a bug or not is simply to move forward to battle new enemies and if they would keep missing up - it would be certainly strange. Upd. patched rom.

Seems normal, you sure you don't have a piece of equipment that gives off this effect?
Where would i get it in the begging of the game? I'm equipped in scale armour, scale shield and leather hat.

That's odd unless your speed is really high you shouldn't be dodging blows. They might only do 1-2 damage instead with high armor. I think if you see the trend continue beyond level 10 then it's a problem.

Well, this is one game where I think my notion of quitting if anyone dies is counter-productive. I can't get very far in the second half of Underkeep (in the room you light up to see the path forward is literally the furthest I've gotten before someone in my party dies and I use Evac to leave the dungeon), so I'm currently grinding near Amor for the cash to get everyone the best equipment possible. Those iron shields will help stave off the party-wide fire damage that screws me over.

I really like this, though, the weird and erratic difficulty that's stupidly easy one minute with next to no encounters whatsoever and tries to wipe you out with attrition the next. It'd be nice if those Holy Waters actually did their job, though.

well pretty much everywhere you are in your level range is programmed knowing that people may venture in there as quick as possible so the monsters are beatable by levels 2 and 3. a level 6 out powers them, and they do become less accurate. its not a glitch it will get harder.

That boss at the top of the trial tower was probably one of the most satisfying boss fights I've had in a while.

Well!
I am stuck in the game and need some help!
When you are in Amor you should go into the church to move forward but it is a priest in the way that refuses to let me .. Does anyone know what to do?

When you get to Amor:

You will check the Inn to rest and find that they are booked. If you check the church, there is a priest upstairs, at a desk to the left. Talk to him and he will offer boarding for the night. You will then proceed down into the basement via the door on the first level, talk to the woman, and go to sleep.

You should know what to do from there.

Yeah.. tried talk to the Inn and after that the priest but he does not let me in anyway.. and i have talked to everyone in the village but nothing helps..

You are probably there too early then. Go back to Somnia (this world, not the upper world) and do all of the events pertaining to the castle there until you end up leaving (most likely by getting kicked out, you'll see). Then you'll want to head to Amor and events should play out properly.

For the record: Holy Waters work by warding off monsters of a lower level then you. Basically, if you are way too weak for the area already, they will be useless. This is how enemy encounter lowering items work in every RPG as far as I'm aware.

There's another very similar boss that you'll love then. He almost kicked my ass, 2 of my characters were dead and my mage was running out of MP. DQ games have some really vicious bosses, which is one thing that I love about the series.

Whats the button combo for soft reset in this game?

I don't think there is one. I tried to find one after a few very unsuccessful attempts at using the Casino and just ended up doing a hard reset.
