Don't think they have stopped it as it's still usable on pc etc... I'm sure you would still keep everythingDid you get to keep your rewards?
With certain games like Watch_Dogs and Assassin's creed you can still unlock U-Play achievements without having the U-Play app, as it asks you to link an account which you can create via your PC and it shows your achievements for specific games on there. As far as I know the U-Play app is not needed.Issue is I'm trying to unlock a reward from the game 'Rabbids Lands' which in theory is comprised in the game files but requires Uplay to be activated. Now that Uplay is gone I don't know what to do. I believe a savegame could help, but that game wasn't too popular!
Rabbids Land does also not need the Uplay app but shows a message saying the server is now offline. I wonder if there is any way (I'm thinking some Gameshark-type memory hack) or game executable modification that could help? With certain games like Watch_Dogs and Assassin's creed you can still unlock U-Play achievements without having the U-Play app, as it asks you to link an account which you can create via your PC and it shows your achievements for specific games on there. If the service is quite literally offline then there isnt anything you can do unless you feel like hosting your own server for it, but that'd also involve needing a patcher like Pretendo does to redirect the URLs to your ownRabbids Land does also not need the Uplay app but shows a message saying the server is now offline. The game executable shows variables called "reward_activated" - as well as several variables linked to the server. It is like the server connection is simply a trigger for a local change. Which means that all the files are already in game. Is there anybody here that is enough of a hacker to want to give this a try?If the service is quite literally offline then there isnt anything you can do unless you feel like hosting your own server for it, but that'd also involve needing a patcher like Pretendo does to redirect the URLs to your own
It's most certainly possible, but I dont have the time (nor the patience) to get this running on a whim. Good luck though, if you can find the addresses in the RAM for unlockables it wouldnt be hard to simply write a value to it that unlocks it.A Pretendo-like Uplay fake server would also be a lovely solution, as Ubisoft discountinued several games.
We had this already.A Pretendo-like Uplay fake server would also be a lovely solution, as Ubisoft discountinued several games.
It is not in the servers. I decrypted the files and it's there. If you check the executable, you'll easily find that the server simply documents the account e-mail, the "points" stored therein, and compares a value. There is no "installation" of anything. Especially since there's no DLC for this game, and the update simply updated a few tables within the main executable. We had this already.
Again...for the people that checks everything in the highest speed. The content you want needs a connection to ubisofts servers. And these are down. There is no way to get the stuff you want
And don't write stuff like "it must be somewhere in the savegame". Yeah, makes sense...NOT. If it would be in the savegame, why do you need a connection to their servers? Why would you need a "separate download" for that? It is some sort of such a download because the stuff is on the servers.

Gotta love your confidence, though. A savegame could contain a different 'value' of is_reward_unlocked, for example.
Another example is the "Very Hungry Caterpillar" Wiiware, that ALREADY contained all 'expansion' items, to the point that the DLC was a few KB of data that simply unblocked the additional content.
Thank you mate. Good to know something exists around the internet. Let me know if you find that backup one day or another.I remember someone had an archive of all the uPlay stuff for Wii U (I even backed it up) but I can't track it or my backup down right now. Sorry, mate. (This stuff usually is already included in the game, though - just with an unlock system based on an outside server. A pity it depended on that - I actually like the "get points to unlock stuff in other games if you want" idea. Some of my Splinter Cell Conviction points went to Zombi U)
Pardon the late response, but it is actually possible if you wanna get your hands dirty to go on a trek through the game's memory and find any content relating to said achievement and change the instructions surrounding it. Did this is AC III and Watch_Dogs a while back to unlock all achievements without need of U-Play or even doing anything in gameWe had this already.

I replied to you in the other post - with thanks! What tools should I use to RAM hack? Do you think you can help? I've got 2 different savegames of this game we can experiment with!Pardon the late response, but it is actually possible if you wanna get your hands dirty to go on a trek through the game's memory and find any content relating to said achievement and change the instructions surrounding it. Also about @Duamutef_MC 's comments about server sides and DLC unlockings. This... depends on the game. For example Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has the Afterbirth DLC already built into the game, while it was never actually released.. After doing a fair bit of dirty work I was able to create a DLC patch a few KBs big that just unlocked what was already there.. Now safely being able to play Afterbirth on Wii U (Keep in mind Afterbirth was never released on Wii U) So while theoretically this type of workaround could be present with SOME games that is not always the case.. As seen with other games having DLC being nearly 2 gigabytes which basically links new content to the existing executable.. Like I've said idk like 3 times now this depends
In @Duamutef_MC 's case a save game is certainly possible if one existed with the unlocked content as Ubisoft has confirmed the workings of their server, but it's a small chance as I never even heard about this game until today, safe to say the same for a lot of other people. IMO Most viable solution? RAM hacking
