Hi guys,

Lately I've been experiementing with the DS of my GF, and saw it can play DPG format videos, so I hopped up and googled stuff up, appearantly there are SOME places to get DPG videos, but not too many.

So, I'm wondering - are there not many places for videos for the ds because there are few people who want it, OR - are there few people who want it because there are few places where it can be gotten?

On the other hand, there are guides on converting videos to dpg... But... Dunno, See, I think SOME video stuff can be watched on the DS, but most stuff, I wanna watch on the TV screen, I mean, this is HD age, ye?

Anyway, lemme know if you watch stuff on the DPG, if you don't, or if you wanna but can't coz of the scarcety of the onverted stuff.

P.s.

I am not posting any links to the DPG files I have found, as it seems these forums keep it strict on "illegal warez/romz/whatever". Dunno if it's not allowed, but rather not risk it.

Edit:

Note Mods/Admins, please feel free to move the topic if I have misplaced it. thx.

I just use my supercard dstwo to watch all kinds of video formats but mostly .avi.

iplayer works very well to watch all kinds of movies in different formats on the go.

I don't mess with .dpg as I don't have to but they can be found all over the place or you can convert your own.

I tried to use the DSTWO to watch video files, but the video player isn't very good to be honest, and I don't feel like bothering with DPG encoding.

Yeah, I get ya, but say you had a place with lots of stuff available for dl, would you? Coz me... I dunno, my eyesight is not that good *chuckleS* but, if the subs are in good size (mostly, I like anime) - I do.

I watch dpg files every night on my ds when I go to bed (since tv would disturb others)
I just set up some encodes in batchdpg and let it run overnight, and i have enough content for 2+ weeks, easily.

Hmhmhm, what do you watch? Does it involve subs? If so, aren't the subs too small to read comfortably?

*is wondering*

Is the userbase small? there's plenty of sales of the DS.

People with psp and ds will naturally watch stuff on the PSP, since it's better res, and stronger cpu, and bigger, 16:9 screen, I think.

*shrugs* anyway, I have neither, so don't really know.

I don't really watch any type of movies or shows or what not on either device but I'd definitely not use the DS. I did try out some DPG video on it once and the quality was poor and the screens were a nuisance.

Plus more people probably use the PSP anyway. On top of just having a wider screen and better quality, it also, you know, officially supports video playback. You need a flashcart for DS video playback.

But really, you're better off buying like a cheap laptop or something for movie watching on-the-go. Generally though, if I want to keep myself entertained on-the-go, I'll just like play games on my PSP or DS.

I watch asian dramas and sometimes anime. The subs are usually plenty big, but I've seen a few shows where they were a bit difficult to read.

Usually I happen to obtain the various media *cough*anime*cough* through various means and they usually have softsubs, but luckily enough there is dpg4x which supports subtitles and you can change the subtitle size easily enough.

I watched Legion on my DS awhile back. Didn't bother going back. DS sound quality and such just doesn't make it worth it. If you have an XL, it would probably be fine at least.
