I hate it because anything game related that is announced even remotly close to AFD is automatically disbelieved. A recent example would be NiGHTS wii which is infact real.

That's because ppl are so paranoid/stupid :/.
What would anyone thinks something in March can be an April fool. :/
On the internets, April Fool's lasts from the last week of march until the middle of april, which makes it suck 21 times as much as it sucks in the real world.

I don't think it's cynical to hate the fact that most of the internet (at least the part I care about) becomes unusable because of poorly thought out, predictable, "jokes" every april.

"Oh! Our site just got shut down by the FBI/RIAA/MPAA/Nintendo/whatever!" That sure hasn't been done before. The other shit is annoying, but at least it doesn't break links & bookmarks.

What sites pretend to get shut down? I've yet to see a single one...

You know what'd be funny? if some game company released a game but in every box instead of the game, there was a not saying "april fools!"

It's a little bit of fun in an otherwise dull day. So long as you realise what day it is before you start reading the internet's a rather amusing place to be on April 1st, whether that amusement be reading something that's funny or mocking someone for their lame attempt at making a joke.

I am always aware of what day April Fools is. So it's fun to check out all of the websites to see what they are doing, as well as pulling pranks on my own websites.
