Hacking Disc Errors?

Hey guys, sorry to trouble you.

Recently upgraded to 4.2U so that I could start playing some of the newer titles. Followed some guides and got hbc, bootmii, and CIOScorp 3.5 running smoothly.

Unfortunately, the two newer backups I try to play (NSMB and Band Hero) are all undetected on the disc channel. When running thru Neogamma, getting a "dvd read error (1049)."

Should be noted that this is NOT a new wii. Running cIOS249r14. Downgraded from 15.

Oddly enough, RB: beatles works perfectly, along with all of my older backups via disc channel.

Clue me in?

EDIT: Silly me, imgburn can't set DVD+R booktypes for my laptop's optical drive (MATSHITA).

In any case, NSMBW asks me to perform an update, although I'm on 4.2U. I thought the update is to 4.1? How do I work around this...I'd like to simply load the game from disc channel.
