AMS 1.6.2 with 8GB support

I'll try to think of some code to load the ram size dynamically, not hardcoded.

From what I can tell. The amount of ram is generally a thing most titles don't take into account very well. The issue is the actual clock speed of the ram.

so about this ram upgrade - did you have to do any trace modding/reball anything or did you find chips that fit the existing pads? overclocking potential with the better thermals?

I believe that probably its most pc ported games eg: slime rancher doom astroneer undertale etc. because those are coded to support all ram types so when they were ported to switch they still had those in their code
