As well as bringing Earthworm Jim, Clayfighter and Stonekeep to WiiWare, Interplay have just announced plans to bring the classic PC title Descent to the service!

QUOTE said:
(April 14th, 2010) — Interplay Entertainment Corp. and G1M2 will partner to bring the classic Descent to the Wii.

“Descent remains the most popular 1080º 3D blasting game. Translating its 3D worlds and game play to WiiWare™ is an exciting move”, said Hervé Caen, CEO of Interplay. “Descent will pair perfectly with the motion sensing Wii Remote™ controller and we can't wait to show players how intuitive the game play and control can be” seconded Scott Hawkins, the Founder of G1M2.

Descent is expected for initial release during Fall 2010 and is planned for electronic distribution through Nintendo's WiiWare™ service.

Fall 2010 seems too far away now. I find it odd that they are spending a lot of time bringing stuff to WiiWare and DSiWare and not PSN/XBLA but whatever, keep them coming....MDK3 please.

Maybe for you but I could control it with a joystick extremely well.

I guess I'm more "core" than you.

Many Ataris and Commodores (C16, PET, C64 & variants like 128, cartridge only etc, Amiga and the variants). As well as BBC Micro, most Sinclairs, Dragon 32 and others.

One day I'll gather them all for a nice photo.

I have an old steering wheel that has pitch controls, man it was such a royal pain in the ass to get good at but it was hella fun. I had Descent 2 for my computer back in the day, with the steering wheel you had to push it in or pull it out to get it to pitch up and down, forward and reverse were done with a throttle control, tilting left and right was done with the turning of the wheel. It was a really good game, very hard though, especially those bastardly Spawns which were fast and had lots of armor but dropped a boat load of stuff.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
