It seems that DML v1.1 can be used to launch all channels made with v8 - so no need to update the apploaders
just install DML 1.1 not 1.0

I posted the logo before, here you go:

use customiizemii to replace the Icon "logochan.tpl" with this PNG and create your wad
For GX extract wad content with showmiiwads and rename 000000000.app to "ID3".bnr

I am finally looking at some of your banners in GX.

Some feedback:

1. I know the wads have the GCN logo sound but the banners don't -- it looks like dimok wants to implement it, so that will be the icing on the cake. Correct me if I'm wrong but, we can add any sound sample we want to each banner, correct? I'm thinking I could add game specific samples to some of the banners, extracting the sound from the ISO and converting it to wave and letting CustomizeMii do the conversion to the right final format.

2. I should probably request this from dimok, but it would be nice if with the cached banners we could still have the overlay of game name, year, manufacturer, etc.

3. I'm surprised you decided to go with a DML logo on the icon instead of GCN, given that all other banners alternate between the game icon and the logo for the original system. Of course, I respect your decision, since your are the one busting ass to give us these banners. If you are to stay with the DML logo, you might consider using alpha on the tpl. It will add some kb to the banner, but the border will be transparent instead of showing a white frame around the "dios-mios lite" words. You can do this in CustomizeMii by selecting the tpl, going to Preview / Replace / Change Format / "To RGBA8 (high quality with alpha). Again, just a suggestion if you have been looking at the icon and wondering why it shows that white frame.

1. the banners for GX have the sound too, but GX cannot play it at the moment
2. Custom sounds can be added from customiize mii (make sure they have the right wav format first - not all wav formats work)
3. I didn't pay much attention to the white border tbh, and from the beginning I was hesitant whether to use DML or GC logo, so I decided to add DML in icon and Wii/Gamecube in banners.
If the white border is obvious and really need to be changed then I might add the other logo instead. It will take time but why not

You can do this in CustomizeMii by selecting the tpl, going to Preview / Replace / Change Format / "To RGBA8 (high quality with alpha).

he would be better changing them to RGB5A3 than RGBA8
RGB5A3 will still give him the alpha and not make the tpls any bigger

Including sound files extracted/recorded from a game is a copyright issue.
It's like using the official banners, replacing pictures and keeping their sounds.

That's why we didn't include the Gamecube's channel loading sound in the loader's code.

But creating banners with pictures found on internet without authorization is exactly the same, like using avatars on a forum, etc.
Authors close their eyes on pictures used by fans.
That's why we don't take action against pictures or screenshots taken by users, but you shouldn't add copyrighted sound.




About the GameCube logo, it's still unsure if it's acceptable.
Nintendo doesn't allow its use in other website or product.
USA law has a "fair use" on trademarked logo for articles talking about the product or the company, but I think channels are not part of that.
We may have to replace it in the loader's banner background too.

If they take action against logos, they would have to take action against all "Wii" text on all the internet using that font too.
