Real quick here...

1x M3 Perfect Lite (The G6 lite is the equivalent with built-in storage)
1x Flashed Nintendo DS Lite using Flashme
M3/G6 CF/SD Dumper

The trick is to boot the DS with the game you want to dump inserted in slot 1. Slot 2 will have the M3/G6 Lite and must be booted into NDS mode. This is why you need to have your DS flashed.

As for links.... well I don't think I can give you any but I know that you can find them via Google. Google is your friend. Use it.

I plan on trying Metroid Prime Hunters again when I get my M3 CF unit using the WRT Dumper version 1.4. This one is hard to find and I definately don't have any links to it.

According to the tutorial, you need 2 flashcarts. Did you just use the m3 lite twice by booting the program and then reinserting the same m3 lite as the storage device?

The tutorial is for WRG Dumper where you do need 2 different slot-2 carts. The M3 Dumper only needs one. The M3/G6 Lite itself. With the WRG Dumper you will need to use the M3/G6 Lite to boot the application then swap it out with the Compact Flash based cart for storage. WRG Dumper can't write to SD based storage.

That's where ordering an M3 CF comes into play for me. It will be my compact flash storage. I only have a 64MB CF card which I salvaged from a prototype MSN WebTV unit so I will need to order a larger CF card when I get a chance as well.

Sorry if this is annoying, but could you pm me the m3 dumper? Or is this the one that is known as dumper v. 1.1? I think i know where to get that one. Oh yeah, might as well say Happy 4th to everyone here too.

Are you using the M3 Game Manager to flash it on by any chance? If you are then try just copying the file to the microsd card. Then use the A button to load it. If you have the game you want to dump already in slot-1 (which it should be) then you can press select and wait. It will take up to 1 hour to complete, depending on the size of the game, so I've always had mine connected to the charging cord so it wouldn't use up the battery during the process. When it is done it will ask you to remove the PASS and reinsert the game. You only need to just remove and reinsert the game already in the slot and press A. It should complete. If it does not then your unit isn't flashed or you didn't do the process right. You must have a flashed DS for either program to work properly.

P.S. - The reason I say to just copy the file over is because the M3 GM seems to corrupt the file. It crashes when you try to load it if you used the M3 GM. Also you must be sure to have firmware v18 or newer installed on your M3 Lite.

Still doesnt seem to work even if not run in the m3 manager, (though i did keep the saver file) im not sure what my firmware version is on the card. I probably just download what was available on the m3 website. It's okay though, the gbamp CF should work and itll take alot less time.

finally got the gbamp and the wrg dumper seems to work. Just install the new firmware e 19 and youre good to go. Still gotta play with it to find out compatibility. In regards to saver files, i guess i can use reinmoon with my sc (that seems to work) or try using it with m3 lite.

I just got started with another dump of metroid prime hunters in an effort to see if this has any better luck. Right now WRG dumper is going through the cart. Hopefully the 64MB CF card I have is large enough to save all of the data. Probably not though so... Anyways for anyone interested to see what kind of output you will get I took a snapshot using my digital camera. Not sure what is up with the warning because I am using FlashMe.

EDIT: Looks like the dumper writes the data to the card but doesn't actually create a file. The system does indicate used space (32MB since I had to do a smaller game for my test) however I will need to find some means of extracting the data from the card now.

EDIT: nevermind. Might be a good idea to just drop a file on the card so the MFT gets initialized I guess. I did it again with a file on the card (it was the firmware update btw) and it worked fine this time.

*find table*
*head hit table* -- 3 times

Also note that WRG dumper will not work from the CF card at all. I just tried for the heck of it and it will complain about an unclean boot.

EDIT: Last one -- I promise. I just did a dump of Metroid Prime Hunters using WRG dumper. It failed miserably. It was actually worse off than the M3 dump. At least with the M3 dump it just had no data in specific byte ranges. The WRG dumper had data in those ranges but it was actually incorrect. I think it stems from the fact that it was unable to find the secure area of my copy of the cart. It did do Planet Puzzle League fine though and was able to find its secure area so I think it comes down to some anti-copy protection on the cart I have. Note that my copy of Metroid Prime Hunters is rather new and it may be something they implemented in later batches of the game.

P.S. - The reason I say to just copy the file over is because the M3 GM seems to corrupt the file. It crashes when you try to load it if you used the M3 GM. Also you must be sure to have firmware v18 or newer installed on your M3 Lite.

Wait is this to say that I can update the m3 lite with gbamp firmware?

Well if you look at the unit it says M3 so yes it will use the same firmware. Make sure you use the firmware for the CF based carts though. They are different. One version of the firmware is for SD based carts and the other firmware is for the CF based carts. Just found out when I got my M3 CF that it was the same thing as the GBAMP.

so WRG works with any M3 CF solution!?!?!?!?!? if not, which ones does it work with!?!?!? saves me moolah!

WRG Dumper V1.4 have a bug that can not creat file when the CF Card have no files, U may creat a blank txt or something before start

Using M3 Dumper with M3CF only

Using WRG Dumper V1.4 with M2 or M3-CF will be OK

bothe of that dump program have remove the DS cart at last step and put it back to DS for secure area

@juggernaut911 -- There is only one real M3 CF solution and it is the one I got. It is also the only remotely available version. Any CF based card should work however so if you do find a different one then I don't see why it wouldn't work.

@ahtin -- That is correct. If you have windows XP then you can use the fsutil program that comes with it to create a 0 byte dummy file. It just needs a file entry to work around this bug. The file doesn't have to use any actual space.

It might but I couldn't say for sure. However if you look at the quantity then you will see that they don't actually have any in stock. The quantity was a negative number which means that they are back-ordered with the units.
