I've got a superchis prime cartridge and updated the firmware from 0.18 up to 0.20 and everything works fine except gameboy color roms. They come with a lot of artifacts and freezes. I cannot patch them with the web patcher tool. What should I do?
Using original, early GameBoy Advance system? These systems are prone to Bugs with SuperCard SD for still some unknown reason.

Hi @davidgf !

I was wondering if in the next release you would consider adding copying files to the firmware, that would be handy for switching emulators, or maybe adding a preferred emulator selection would also be great!

I also want to mention that I am still experiencing graphical glitches after entering the menu while in-game (just entering and exiting already causes the glitch)

Thanks a lot for your incredible work!

Kind Regards,

S.

Hey folks!
Good news, been working (still not there, but WIP) on improving the patcher.
(the patcher is here: https://patchtool.superfw.davidgf.net/)

This now works with many pokemon ROM hacks. Simply load the gba there, download the patch. You can just place the file with the same name and path as the ROM (extension .patch). When loading the game it will automatically use "Patch Engine" not database, that should work fine.

Lemme know what you think!

--- Update ---

Did test a bunch of ROM hacks. The patcher still doesnt support RTC for some games, working on it. However saving does work now. The games I successfully tested so far are:

  • Pokémon Elysium
  • Pokémon Glazed
  • Pokémon Heart and Gold
  • Pokemon Seaglass
  • Pokemon Gaia
  • Pokemon Lazarus
  • Pokemon Modern Emerald
  • Pokemon Unbound
  • Pokemon Radical Red
  • Pokemon Recharged Emeral
  • Pokemon ROWE
  • Pokemon Team Rocket Edition
  • Super Mariomon
  • Pokemon Sword and Shield Ultimate

I also found some other issue, will fix in the next 0.19 version, when loading some 32MB games. They might not work at all due to an issue in the loader. It only affects a handful of games (ie. Radical Red one of them) but the fix is coming.

Hope this helps all the pokemon fans out there!
Any chance you could take a look at Pokemon FireRed LeafGreen+ romhack? I can't get it to load on my SuperChis

Disregard, it's working fine. I was doing something wrong on my end I think, after using the SuperFW webpatcher all is well.

@davidgf

Hello; I hope you haven't already addressed this somewhere, but I wasn't able to find an answer and opened an issue on Github.

https://github.com/davidgfnet/superfw/issues/75

Just wondering if it was possible on the Superchis version of SuperFW to get recently-opened NORFlash'd roms to appear in the "Recent Games" tab, because it doesn't seem to be doing so on my Superchis cart, even after I recently updated from SuperFW 0.18 to 0.20

Just let me know when you have a moment; thanks!

Guys, is there a way to save display filter for gameboy games? I want to keep it pea soup, but every time I launch games, I need to select it manually

hi David, i am new to this flashcart things and thank you very much for this awesome firmware.

I have questions regarding romhack, especially Pokemon unbound.

I patched the rom using the web patcher, it can load the game, but it looks like the RTC is still not working.

Any update regarding this? thank you

By the way, SuperChis cards work on original GBA's which doesn't play nicely with supercards?
the superChis works well enough on my AGS-1 however it is worth noting that I cant seem to do in-place firmware upgrades using my AGS-1, and I seem to have to use my SP for that part of things at the moment.

SuperChis does not have an on-board RTC chip so you have to do some work-arounds.

For one, you have to manually set the current time from the superFW in-game menu once each time you start the game; which you access via L+R+Start, assuming you have not disabled via patching options.

For two, once initially set the superFW 'fake' RTC patched in by SuperFW is a 'best-effort' that tries to advance the in-game clock as close as possible to a "real clock" while you play, but it is susceptible to drift as well due to a lack the RTC chip on SuperChis.

I hope this helps explain things, please let me know if you have any questions.
